Colossus acquisition completed after shareholders approved all resolutions on 12 September 2023. The A$2.2m placement, cornerstoned by Ionic Rare Earths with A$600k, is reported complete and funds the maiden exploration program.
HIDROEX was hired to drill Colossus, with rigs due to start in September 2023. Phase I plans about 3,200m across 213 auger holes on four licences; Phase II targets western and southeast licences.
Surface grab samples at Colossus show rare earths can be recovered by a simple ammonium sulfate wash, averaging 46% for neodymium. Best sample PC-10 graded 2,753ppm TREO. These are only three leached samples, not drilling.
Dr Klaus Petersen appointed Brazil Country Manager and Executive Director, with 500,000 performance rights vesting on resource and feasibility milestones. Maiden Colossus drilling is to start after shareholder approval on 12 September.
Dr Jose Marques Braga Junior, ex-CBMM principal geologist, joins as in-country Executive Director for Brazil, with 400,000 performance rights tied to resource and feasibility milestones. A$1.5m convertible loans at $0.25 funded the first US$1m Colossus payment.

Viridis added 12 more licences (34.5km2) to Colossus at no extra consideration, a 61% increase in land and taking its Poços de Caldas holding to 90.69km2. One licence adjoins Meteoric's Dona Maria 1 resource (94Mt @ 2,320ppm TREO).

Viridis agreed to buy 100% of the rare earth rights to the Colossus project in Brazil (41 licences, 56km2) for US$2.0m, US$1m upfront, plus performance rights. It will raise A$2.2m at $0.25, with Ionic Rare Earths cornerstoning A$600k. Adds a new rare earths focus.

Viridis has met the A$1.5m Stage 1 spend and now holds 51% of the South Kitikmeot gold project, ahead of the 31 Dec 2024 deadline. Stage 2 needs a further A$2m by 31 Dec 2027 to lift its interest to 66%.
First Smoky drilling assays confirm halloysite: 4m at 63% from 7m in VS23-07 (including 1m at 85.3%) and 2m at 85.4% in VS23-06. Only ten selected samples tested so far. Follows March surface results.
First Esker Lake assays confirm gold, best 13.02m at 3.14g/t from 79m and 9.00m at 2.24g/t from 69m (EL-23-005). Supports the historic intercepts; resolves the awaited assay thread, though only some holes' results are highlighted.
Ground magnetic surveys at Gold Bugs, Bling and Esker 2 mapped iron formation at Gold Bugs and Esker 2, and two new linear features at Bling. Helps generate drill targets; Esker Lake assays still pending.

Viridis staked 842 claims covering about 211km2 in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, for rare earths (Ytterby, ~107km2) and rare earths/uranium (Star Lake, 104km2). Cost about A$60,000. Adds a critical-minerals direction beyond gold and kaolin; surveys planned second half 2023.
Further Poochera assays confirm halloysite, including 11.4% over 16m from 25m (VM22-039) and 6.3% over 12m (VM22-017), adding to March results. More results await lab capacity; Stage 2 drilling is expected later in 2023.
Maiden Esker Lake drilling finished with 7 holes, fewer than the up to 12 planned. Core shows visible sulphides, but these are not assays; ALS assays are expected June 2023. Geophysics at three properties done, results due mid-May.
Maiden diamond drilling began at Esker Lake, South Kitikmeot: up to 12 holes and 1,000m to test historic gold intercepts (e.g. 3m at 11.7g/t). Geophysics also planned on the other six properties. Follows the March approvals.
Shannon Robinson and Carly Terzanidis became joint Company Secretaries, replacing Ian Pamensky, who resigned. Administrative change; no operating or financial information given.
Surface rock samples at Smoky returned halloysite, peaking at 36.6% in raw material (VK-094), the first confirmation at the site since 1980s quarrying. Drill samples are now at the James Hutton Institute for assay; this is surface sampling, not drilling.
First halloysite confirmed at Poochera: 7.3% over 15m from 7m (VM22-019) and 8.9% over 14m (VM22-036), with local peaks to 18.9% over 2m. Also 90.4% kaolin over 31m. Resolves the earlier open question of halloysite; 39 more samples pending.
Half-year to 31 December 2022: net loss $425,317, cash $3,161,008 (down from $3,906,774 in June), total liabilities $223,815, net assets $4,179,655. No revenue; no debt shown. Operations recap earlier announcements.
All approvals received for the maiden Esker Lake drilling at South Kitikmeot, up to 12 holes and 1,000m; camp construction began 5 March. Resolves the long-running permitting thread. Also reports first-stage Smoky drilling done: seven holes, 278m.
Maiden aircore drilling has started at the 100%-owned Smoky halloysite project in NSW, up to 30 holes and 1,800m beside the historical halloysite quarry. A rig is on site; follows the November 2022 approval. Results to come.
Additional disclosure shows $2.05m spent since listing against a $5.26m budget, with exploration at $660k versus $2.5m budgeted. Company says it remains on track over the 24 months, given large exploration programs planned for early 2023.
Faheem Ahmed joined the board as non-executive director. Michael Melamed resigned as director but stays as Chief Financial Officer. Minor board change; Ahmed is to stand for election at the 2023 AGM.
Scottish lab tests on 13 Poochera samples averaged 92% kaolinite and brightness 89 in the fine fraction; hole VM22-022 gave over 38m of mostly >90% kaolinite. No halloysite was detected in these samples. Confirms the visual logging; Stage 2 (~2,000m) still planned early 2023.
