AleAnna's first fully owned gas field, Gradizza, is targeted for first production in early 2027
AleAnna says Gradizza in Italy's Po Valley should start producing in the first quarter of 2027, with a Longanesi processing facility and a biomethane upgrade also due to progress.
AleAnna, Inc. is targeting first gas from its Gradizza field in the first quarter of 2027, according to its January 20, 2026 announcement. Gradizza is the company's first fully owned and operated development, and AleAnna holds a 100% working interest.
The company says it has received the final approval needed before production: a Production Concession from Italy's environment and energy ministry (MASE), covering an initial 20-year period. The plan is a single well and a compact processing facility, connected by a short pipeline to the SNAM gas transmission system. Gradizza is near Tresignana and Copparo in the Province of Ferrara.
What is still to happen
- Monitoring study: AleAnna can start production shortly after it submits, and regulators approve, a 12-month seismic and subsidence monitoring study. The company said the study had already begun. Approval of that study is a gate to the 2027 target.
- Longanesi: The permanent processing facility is under construction and is expected to be installed in phases during 2026. Completion and commissioning are expected in early 2027.
- Casalino: Upgrade construction, a biomethane conversion of an existing AD facility, is due to begin in 2026. The company gave only a year, with no more specific timing.
Why it matters
Gradizza's latest stated gas reserve is 0.703 bcf on a P50 basis (a median estimate), as of March 31, 2026. If it comes online as planned, it would be a modest first fully owned producer, and the company's larger ambitions rest on other assets and on exploration potential it describes.
The company reported quarterly revenue of $10.2 million and net income of $2.4 million for the period ended June 30, 2026. It also filed a final prospectus for a registered offering in May 2026. Its forward-looking statements list a need for additional capital as a risk.
What is uncertain
All three dates are targets and could move. The Gradizza start depends on the monitoring study approval. The Longanesi window runs only to April 2027. In January, AleAnna said revised reserves and prospective resources reports from DeGolyer and MacNaughton were due in the first quarter of 2026, and that it would update its development plan afterward. The announcement does not say whether the 0.703 bcf figure reflects those revisions.
