29 July 2022joint venture update● Neutral
Province says Total Eren joint development agreement talks are drawing to a conclusion. The MoU is extended a further 10 days to 10 August 2022. The CEO says negotiations have taken longer than hoped but should conclude soon.
June quarter report restates the 5 July native title consents (870 sq km), the 120m met mast and four SODARs, and the MoU extension to 31 July. Gnama DHEM found no clear off-hole anomaly in two holes; focus moves to re-reviewing old EM surveys. Skåne has no viable process.
ASX queried a rise from A$0.058 to A$0.105 and heavier volume since 5 July. Province said it knew of no undisclosed information and pointed to the 5 July native title consents announcement as the explanation.
Two native title groups, NTGAC and YAC, formally consent to Section 91 licences across 870 sq km around Carnarvon, a prerequisite for the State to issue them. It allows talks on an Indigenous Land Use Agreement. Pastoralist consultation and final tenure remain open.
Gnama South RC drilling hit mafic intrusive rock in all 3 holes, with a geochemical signature similar to the Eye intrusion hosting IGO's Nova-Bollinger, and bedrock sulphur averaging 0.5%. No nickel sulphide mineralisation is reported. Further RC and diamond drilling is approved.
Two director interest notices. David Frances exercised 10m vested performance rights into 10m ordinary shares for nil consideration, leaving 20m rights. Roger Martin's 5m performance rights, approved at the 25 November 2021 AGM, were issued on 1 December 2021.
56,250,000 Class B Performance Shares issued to the Skåne vendors in 2018 have expired, because no preliminary feasibility study for Skåne was published within 42 months of relisting. This follows the May testwork setback; no shares convert.
A 120m meteorological mast is operating at Carnarvon, and two more wind-measurement SODAR units bring the total to four. The Total Eren MoU is extended again, to 31 July 2022, as the joint development agreement is still not finalised.
Metallurgical testwork found no viable process option for the Skåne vanadium mineralisation, as the vanadium sits in muscovite and flotation failed. The planned economic study is deferred. A Swedish court rejected appeals against the 10-hole Tomelilla drilling approval. The 116.9Mt resource is unchanged.
March quarter report: HyEnergy scoping study completed, with pre-feasibility study targeted for completion in H1 2023. The Total Eren MoU was extended to 31 May 2022 to finalise a joint development agreement. Gnama drilling is complete, with assays pending.
Half-year accounts to 31 December 2021 show a loss of A$4.18m, against A$0.71m a year earlier. The period covered completion of HyEnergy scoping activities, the Section 91 licence and GEV export study work. Auditor is William Buck; the text shown does not give cash.
Gnama drilling is finished: 870m in 3 RC holes beyond 250m depth, plus 29 air core and 4 shallow RC holes at Gnama North. Downhole electromagnetic surveys are done; assays are expected in about eight weeks. No results yet; follow-up drilling is approved.
Scoping study for the HyEnergy green hydrogen project with Total Eren is completed, a two-phase 4GW plus 4GW concept with 2.6GW of electrolysers per phase, clearing the way for a pre-feasibility study. It resolves the open scoping thread, triggers Class A milestones, and starts joint development agreement talks. No cost estimates are given.
Reverse circulation drilling starts at Gnama South in the Fraser Range: 3 holes to a maximum 300m each, testing below an old nickel-copper anomaly (20m @ 0.57% Ni). Downhole electromagnetic surveys follow. Further drilling is approved if results are positive.
December quarter report: HyEnergy scoping activities are completed, with a summary to be released. Lead agency status was granted. The Gnama North air core program finished at 891m, against the 2,000m announced at start.
The WA Government awards HyEnergy lead agency status, with the jobs and innovation department to guide approvals. This resolves the open lead-agency application. Province says the scoping study with Total Eren is close to complete, and it has opened a Carnarvon office.
Phase 1 air core drilling begins at Gnama North, about 2,000m on one tenement, smaller than the roughly 3,200m originally planned. Results are expected Q1 2022. Gnama South drilling is now expected in the first half of 2022 after approvals.
GEV reports its HyEnergy export study design phase is complete, engineering starts January 2022 and completion is due in the June 2022 quarter. The A$300,000 grant agreement is signed. Province led the application for the new Gascoyne hydrogen innovation cluster.
Province restarts work on its Skåne vanadium project in Sweden, with metallurgical testwork then a Micon scoping-level economic study. Testwork is due Q1 2022 and the study Q2 2022. The existing resource of 116.9Mt at 0.39% V2O5 is unchanged; no new drilling.
Province appoints Cameron Bateman as Chief Development Officer. He is an engineer with 30 years' experience, including 2006 to 2020 at Woodside Energy, and will help drive development of HyEnergy.
Province welcomes the WA Government's proposed new 'diversification lease' for green hydrogen projects, which would add a tenure option for HyEnergy. The changes are proposed and the government will consult stakeholders. Province will keep pursuing tenure under existing law.
September quarter report: HyEnergy scoping continued under the Total Eren MoU, with the Section 91 licence granted and flora surveys done. Gnama North air core Programme of Work was approved, awaiting Ngadju heritage surveys. Gnama South still awaits its flora report.
Letter to shareholders on the AGM, now set for 25 November 2021 at 2pm WST, in person or virtual. This is a date change from the 30 November previously scheduled. Proxies are due 23 November. Administrative notice only.
Fauna survey fieldwork at Gnama South is finished. The Programme of Work still awaits the flora report, and heritage surveys with the Ngadju are being planned. An RC and diamond program targets nickel-copper below historic holes such as 20m @ 0.57% Ni; no start date.
Global Energy Ventures says its HyEnergy export feasibility study has started, with WSP as lead, ERM on environment and Oropesa on offshore terminal design. Completion is expected in the June 2022 quarter. It follows the August MoU and the WA grant.

Province agrees to sell its Pascalle gold project in the Paterson to Greatland Gold for a total of A$400,000: A$50,000 for one licence and an option for A$350,000 over the rest. This resolves the open question over Pascalle and lets the company focus on HyEnergy, Fraser Range and Sweden.
