NAE has begun on-ground work at Wagyu: gravity and passive seismic surveys plus soil sampling, after defining several Hemi-style intrusive and structural gold targets. An air core drilling Programme of Work was submitted in March; heritage surveys are still to be completed.
The maiden Quartz Hill program is finished: 21 of 24 planned shallow RC holes were drilled to target depth. No results yet; assays are expected in early 2024, which will show whether the soil lithium anomalies hold up at depth.
Maiden drilling has started at Quartz Hill, testing the lithium soil anomalies near fertile granite with 20 to 25 shallow holes. Assay results are expected in early 2024. First drill test of the Pilbara lithium targets built up since 2022.
NAE says maiden reverse circulation drilling of lithium pegmatite targets at Quartz Hill will start within a week, with site works done and a passive seismic survey to gauge cover depth. Follows the heritage clearance; first drilling of the Pilbara lithium targets.
NAE has started a second round of soil sampling (about 1,200 more samples) at Bullock Well and Quartz Hill to refine the lithium targets before drilling. Greg Hudson, ex-Neometals, is appointed Chief Geological Consultant. Drilling still awaits approvals.
Soil analysis at the Brahman project identified additional high-priority lithium pegmatite targets, adding to the May Bullock Well and Quartz Hill targets. Brahman is next to Golden State Minerals' Nomad lithium discovery. Drilling is planned for the coming field season, subject to approvals.
NAE's maiden OPQ drilling (six RC holes, 879m) hit the shear zone in four holes. Best results were 6m at 1.4 g/t Au and 1m at 2.53 g/t Au. Diamond drilling is being planned; the zone remains open.
CSIRO and Sugden Geoscience analysis of the Pilbara soil data produced multiple high-priority lithium pegmatite targets at Bullock Well and Quartz Hill, with lithium up to 843ppm. Aircore/RC drilling is planned for the coming field season, subject to approvals. Resolves the pending final interpretation.
NAE will start a maiden 935m, six-hole RC drill program at OPQ in Otago on 21 February, the first hard-rock drilling of the Waipori Goldfield. Also reports encouraging surface gold at Manorburn and high-grade quartz vein samples at Marlborough.
Ultrafine soil sampling in the Central Pilbara found five lithium anomalies up to 8km long, with lithium up to 843ppm at Bullock Well. None have been drill tested. Builds on the earlier low-level lithium hits; final CSIRO results are due Q1 2023, and helicopter reconnaissance has started.
Rock chips from historic mines at Lammerlaw and OPQ in Otago returned high-grade gold, up to 27.0 g/t, with 17 of 104 samples above 0.5 g/t. Resolves the pending May assays; maiden drilling is now planned for the 2022-23 field season.
First assays from 13 Phase 2 RC holes (1,506m) at Brahman show only low-level gold anomalism (e.g. 40m @ 5.5ppb Au) and low-level lithium anomalism (e.g. 56m @ 137.5ppm Li). Lithium pegmatite also confirmed at Quartz Hill. No significant gold intercept; adds lithium as a second target.
First 20 RC holes totalling 1,500m of the planned 5,000m Phase 2 Pilbara program are complete at Brahman and Droughtmaster, short of the 2,500m targeted in November before the wet season. No assay results yet; soil surveys continue.
A 5,000m reverse circulation Phase 2 program starts in the Central Pilbara with Strike Drilling, focusing first on the Brahman and Droughtmaster projects. About 20 holes (2,500m) are targeted before the wet season, with the rest likely in early 2022. Follows the October target work and the shallow Phase 1 aircore.
A geophysical review of the Central Pilbara ground (2,311 km2) identified 104 new Hemi-style gold targets and 66 structural targets, none drilled. Field work also confirmed lithium-tantalum-tin pegmatites near the Wodgina belt. Soil surveys and drilling are planned from November. It also says much of the earlier aircore drilling did not reach target depth.
NAE applied for a 75 km2 exploration permit at Lammerlaw, the step needed before drilling. New infill soil assays show gold-arsenic anomalies 200m to 1,000m long, with one sample at 902ppb gold. NAE also sought a two-year extension of the prospecting permit.
The maiden Pilbara aircore program finished with 37 holes for ~1,159m, short of the 40 holes and ~2,800m planned. Several targets did not reach modelled depth and may need more drilling. Samples are at the lab; no assay results yet.
Maiden Pilbara aircore drilling restarts on the northern Hemi-style targets after the permit variation was approved, resolving the pause from early May. Up to 40 holes (~2,800m) still planned. The A$3.6m placement is cited as backing the program.
Second aeromagnetic survey (220 km2) shows intrusive, shear-hosted gold and nickel-copper-cobalt targets at Bullock Well and Quartz Hill. Northern aircore drilling is paused after 19 holes (611m) for an environmental permit variation; assays expected in several weeks.
Lammerlaw soil sampling outlines two gold-arsenic zones, one 150m wide over at least 2km, with some samples over 50ppb gold. Antimony mine dump rocks gave 1.69g/t gold. Confirms the January arsenic pathfinder results with gold; drill targets not yet defined.
The maiden aircore drilling at the northern Pilbara licences has started, as planned: up to 40 holes, ~2,800m, testing Hemi-style magnetic targets. The first drilling on the Monterey option ground; results will inform the option decision due by 14 July 2021.
NAE starts a second aeromagnetic survey over 210 km2 on its 100%-owned Bullock Well and Quartz Hill licences, south of the Hemi area. Final results are due about three weeks after the roughly five-day flight. No results yet.
The maiden Pilbara aircore program (about 40 holes, ~2,800m) is confirmed for mid-April 2021 after the Programme of Works was approved and a KL-150 rig contracted. This turns the earlier plan into a firm start. No results yet.
NAE has prepared a Programme of Works for a 40-hole, ~2,800m aircore program on Hemi-style targets in the northern Pilbara licences. Start is subject to rig availability and approvals. Follows December's aeromagnetics; the option runs to 14 July 2021.
November 2020 soil sampling at Lammerlaw and OPQ found nine samples above 50ppm arsenic, two over 300ppm (max 349ppm), outlining two possible zones, one at least 2km long. Infill sampling follows. Pathfinder results only, not gold.
Aeromagnetics show several Hemi-style intrusion targets on the Monterey option licences, with maiden aircore drilling planned for the first half of 2021. The option is extended to 14 July 2021 for CA$100,000 and a A$500,000 exploration spend commitment.
Field crews collected 246 soil samples on 4 regional lines and 30 rock chips at Lammerlaw and OPQ in mid-November 2020, continuing the June sampling. Samples were screened by handheld XRF; assays on anomalies follow. No assay results yet.
NAE begins a detailed aeromagnetic survey over the four Monterey option licences, covering 460 km2 (text also says 420 km2), to look for Hemi-style intrusion targets. Final results are due about three weeks after completion. No results yet.
NAE starts stream sediment, soil and rock chip sampling on seven Pilbara licences, with a 5,835 line-km aeromagnetic survey due 16 November. This is due diligence on the Monterey option tenements, which the company extended by 30 days. No results yet.
Soil sampling at Lammerlaw and OPQ returned 7 samples above 10ppb gold (up to 33ppb), several with arsenic. One Lammerlaw anomaly extends 1.5km along strike. Encouraging for shear-hosted gold, but small values; 14 more lines and Wacker drilling planned in 2020.
