2 Sept 2013farm in farm out agreement▲ GoodMajor
Meteoric farms out Barkly copper-gold to Blaze International: Blaze can earn 50% by spending $250,000 before March 2015, then 20% more for $350,000 by March 2017, up to 80% if it funds to feasibility. Resolves the farm-out talks needed to fund Bluebird drilling.
Webb aircore drilling confirmed a new kimberlite field, potentially 400 sq km; five holes returned kimberlite-consistent chemistry with indicator minerals. No microdiamonds yet. Joint venture tenements doubled to 1,000 sq km; drilling resumes in September. Builds on the GeoCrystal earn-in.
One-metre re-sampling of Bluebird hole BBRC-2 confirmed the earlier result: 4m @ 4.7% copper from 115m including 1m @ 16.2% copper. Mineralisation remains open at depth. Strengthens the November discovery.
Bluebird hole BBRC-2 hit 8m @ 2.20% copper including 4m @ 3.7% from 112m, below the earlier 8m @ 1.0% intercept. The EM conductor hole BBRC-1 found no mineralisation. First high-grade copper result at the prospect; ironstone appears to widen with depth.
RC drilling is set to start within two weeks at Bluebird, targeting the strong EM conductor BRK1-C1 (3000-8000S) within 100m of the earlier 8m @ 1.0% copper hole. Follows the August EM survey and moves the project from targeting to drilling.
Citing a positive study on neighbouring Macarthur Minerals' Ularring project, Meteoric re-reports Coorara drilling at a 40% Fe cut-off, widening some intercepts and potentially enlarging exploration targets. No new drilling; the targets remain conceptual and wide-spaced.
A ground EM survey found a strong pipe-shaped conductor at the 100%-owned Bluebird copper-gold prospect near Tennant Creek, apparently untested by earlier drilling (8m @ 1.0% Cu). Four weaker anomalies also found; modelling is under way to pick drill targets.
Completed 204-hole, 5,815m Tibooburra drilling gave results the company calls lower grade and narrower than expected. A twin of the 20m @ 5.22 g/t hole returned 7m @ 8.08 g/t, but a hole drilled beneath it hit only 2m @ 0.93 g/t. Over 400 samples await assay.
A 6,000m RAB/aircore programme is due to start at Tibooburra to follow up the 20m @ 5.22 g/t gold result, testing 6.8km of strike. Coorara phase-two RC drilling (31 holes, 984m) is finished, with assays pending.
Early Coorara holes hit shallow hematite-goethite iron: 8m @ 60.9% Fe from 10m and 8m @ 59% Fe from 14m, open at depth and to the south. Nine more targets remain in the 1,300m programme. A first encouraging result after earlier thinner intercepts.
A 1,300m RC drilling programme has started at Coorara to test for direct shipping iron ore in hematite-goethite zones. Completion is expected in early November. Follows the earlier scout drilling that found thinner, higher-silica mineralisation than surface sampling.
One-metre re-assays confirm shallow high-grade gold at Tibooburra's New Bendigo: 20m @ 5.22 g/t from 8m, including 3m @ 22.62 g/t, and 4m @ 11.33 g/t at end of hole. Zone is open to the south; an untested western trend of old diggings remains.
First-pass Tibooburra drilling (63 holes, 2,049m) at New Bendigo returns best 16m @ 3.45 g/t gold, including 4m @ 10.40 g/t. Meteoric has met minimum spend and may earn 51%. Preliminary 4m composites; 1m re-assays pending.
Further Coorara mapping found new hematite-altered BIF and detrital iron targets. A 2,500m RAB scout programme is planned from August, subject to permits and a rig. Tibooburra 3,000m RAB drilling is due late July; Webb access agreement reached.
Heads of Agreement lets North Australian Diamonds earn 70% of Meteoric's rights in four Webb tenements by spending $2.5m within five years of signing an access agreement. Minimum 1,000m drilling in first two years. Resolves the earlier joint-venture plan; access still pending.
First Coorara RC drilling (22 holes, 1,455m) confirms goethite-hematite in the weathered zone, but thicknesses are generally lower and silica higher than surface sampling suggested. Three holes await logging; heavy rain interrupted drilling. This is a softer result than the surface samples implied.
Mapping and a trial gravity survey outline at least 4.5km of drilling targets at Coorara. A 3,000m RC drilling programme is expected to start within a week, subject to permitting. Mapping also suggests potential for channel iron deposits.
Rock-chip traverses at Coorara return composites up to 35m at 58.9% Fe; 83 of 194 samples exceeded 55% Fe. These are surface samples used to pick drill targets. Drilling is expected to start in January 2011, and the company calls Coorara a priority.
More Coorara rock sampling gives up to 65.8% Fe; the 30 higher-grade samples average 60.7% Fe, suggesting possible direct-shipping grades over 12km. Flora surveys are under way and drilling is expected to start December/January. Surface samples only, no drilling yet.
Tibooburra soil and stream sampling (1,818 soil, 733 stream samples) outlines four gold-arsenic-antimony anomalies, the largest 5km long (Kink). Further sampling comes next, then RAB drilling in the new year after permitting. Earn-in terms are stated as up to 75% for $1.5m over six years.
Black Ridge reports drilling at Unaly Hill, including 5 holes (850m) on Meteoric's adjacent Four Corners Well licence E57/760, with iron and vanadium intercepts up to 104m. Black Ridge plans a scoping study. Partner's announcement; Meteoric keeps 40% if the earn-in completes.
First Webb T1 diamond hole (604m) hit no massive hematite, breccia or significant sulphides; best was 5m at 0.04% copper. Further T1 drilling awaits modelling. T4 and T5 (>5,000nT) anomalies advance, with gravity surveys and a heritage survey planned.
Final Coorara assays: 63 of 236 rock samples (26%) exceeded 50% Fe, defining five priority hematite zones each over 1km long. Mapping comes next to select drill targets. Surface sampling only; no drilling yet.
First Coorara rock sampling shows widespread hematite-goethite alteration, with listed samples at 50.8-62.2% Fe. Geological mapping is about to start to define drill targets, 50km from the railway. Early surface sampling, not drilling.
Meteoric can earn 51% of 600sq km of Tibooburra goldfield tenements in NSW by spending $500,000 in three years, then 24% more for $1m. It can exit after $60,000 of sampling. Historic production was at least 60,000oz; sampling has begun.
Meteoric commissions a 2,500 line-km aeromagnetic survey over Coorara's 40km iron formation, starting within a week, to find hematite and magnetite targets. It plans to accelerate exploration, citing neighbours' hematite resources. No new results yet.
Aeromagnetic surveys define three drill targets at the 2.5km-long T1 IOCG body, with holes over 500m deep needed. Drilling is due to start in the first week of June. A very strong 5,000nT anomaly at T5 is also identified.
Black Ridge Mining's own announcement of the Unaly Hill South agreement with Meteoric, repeating terms Meteoric also released. It can earn 60% by spending $1m in three years, with $100,000 minimum in six months.
Agreement in principle lets Black Ridge earn 60% of Meteoric's Unaly Hill South licence for $1m within three years, rising to 70% for a further $0.5m. Meteoric keeps gold and silver rights. First Webb IOCG drilling is due at the end of May.
Meteoric plans airborne magnetic surveys in April, then drilling of the main T1 IOCG target in May. Infill sampling confirmed isolated gold values up to 67ppb but no large coherent gold anomaly. Robinson Range access talks continue.
