On August 27, 2014 Ireland ended its Red Mountain option with Sierra Mineral Management for a $50,000 payment, abandoning that project; the company said it wanted to redirect budgeted funds to exploration at Columbus. It also let 198 Columbus claims lapse, expected to save about $212,000 a year, leaving Columbus with 466 claims (about 23,498 acres including private land) and its main 2,000-acre focus area retained. This resolves the open Red Mountain option thread and narrows the company to Columbus.
