At Inca, large cavities and water are causing deep RC holes to fail, so DYL will pre-collar with RC to 200 m then switch to diamond coring. This slows drilling and resource data. Hole INCR150R hit 1.48% U3O8 at 233-234 m; shallow mineralisation also confirmed.
Uranio paid DYL $500,000 to settle its debt from the 2007 asset deal, the $1m due Jan 2009 apparently being resolved this way (inference). DYL keeps 100% of Anketell, transfers its Gardner Range 30% and Siccus 20% to Uranio, keeps 30% of Ponton North and 9.8% of Uranio.
2009 Isa West drilling began 21 April (7,000 m RC, 2,000 m core). First Eldorado North gamma results include 6 m at 2,216 ppm and 7 m at 1,772 ppm eU3O8, with mineralisation steeply dipping and open along strike. Gamma estimates, not chemical assays.
Inca Deeps discovery in Namibia: uranium at about 200 m depth, including 10 m at 7,293 ppm, 59 m at 604 ppm and 20 m at 1,734 ppm U3O8 (chemical assays). Open in all directions. Board approved an Inca scoping study; early tests suggest 90%+ recovery.
WCP Resources withdrew from its deal to earn 100% of non-uranium minerals on DYL's EPM 16007 (Sherrin Creek phosphate, Qld) without earning any equity, after assessing the data. Ends the June 2008 agreement; small non-core asset.
Half-year to 31 December 2008: net loss $12.38m (versus profit of $0.78m a year earlier), exploration spend $10.3m. The Matrix uranium deal remains unresolved: DYL is taking part in the administrator's and receiver's asset sales. The Gawler JV with Dominion was terminated in December.
First Tumas resource: Indicated and Inferred 10.0Mt at 345 ppm U3O8, 3,450 t (7.6Mlb) at 200 ppm cut-off, 90% Indicated. Adds to Tubas 17,600 t. It missed the December 2008 target date because data checking took longer than expected.
Toro more than doubled Napperby's Inferred resource to 9.34Mt at 359 ppm, 3,351 t U3O8 (7.39Mlb), from 1,420 t in July 2008. Toro holds an option to buy 100% from DYL at a capped price per pound; a scoping study is due this month.
Inca drilling in Namibia returned 12 m at 2,095 ppm U3O8 (184-196 m) and 17 m at 502 ppm, chemical assays. Chemical values exceed gamma readings, a gap to be resolved. Tumas resource estimate is due shortly.
Universal Resources' own release of the EPM 14367 (Spider) earn-in with DYL, same terms as DYL's announcement. Adds that a buy-out of Universal's 20% would be paid in DYL shares and cash equal to 15% of in-situ resource value. Duplicate, no new substance.
DYL agreed an earn-in on Universal Resources' EPM 14367 near Mt Isa: minimum $100,000 spend by end-2009, then 51%, and up to 80% uranium rights with a further $150,000 by end-2010. A small, low-cost addition to its Mt Isa holdings.
Uranio (DYL holds 30%) says an airborne survey shows a large conductive unit beneath the Don prospect at Gardner Range, WA, site of a 1980 intersection of 0.44 m at 1.5% U3O8. Drilling is now planned for 2009 after the wet season.
Krucible Metals signed a heads of agreement to earn 80% of DYL's Pilgrim phosphate tenement (EPM 15072, Qld) by spending $400,000 over four years. It can buy 100% for 1m Krucible shares within two years. Small non-uranium asset.
Following AGM approval, 6.1m unlisted options at 27.5c, expiring 30 June 2011, were issued to Pretorius (4.3m) and Kavanagh (1.8m). Half vested immediately, half vest 1 July 2010. Completes the proposal from August; routine.
DYL shifts from regional exploration to resource definition and pre-development, cutting spending and retrenching staff in Namibia and Australia. It has over A$50m cash and no debt. Namibian drilling (~137,000 m) ends December; JORC resources due 3-6 months later.
AGM presentation recapping Mt Isa and Namibia drilling results already announced. It states cash and liquid assets above A$50m, Paladin at 19.29%, and Tumas resource study due late 2008 or early 2009. No new information.
Matrix Metals has gone into administration. The legal documents for the 13 October deal were not finalised and DYL has not paid the $3m. DYL will seek advice, so its path to 100% of the uranium rights on Matrix ground is uncertain.
More Isa West assays across 2 km of strike, best 5 m at 1,606 ppm and 13 m at 784 ppm U3O8. A single hole at Eldorado North, 2 km further south, hit 20 m at 437 ppm. Builds on last week's results; mineralisation is open.
Namibian update: Inca mineralisation keeps expanding, best new hole 5 m at 1,631 ppm eU3O8. New Oryx prospect hit 27 m at 588 ppm, 8 km north of Tumas. Tubas trench detail drilling is adding a second aircore rig. Gamma results, not chemical assays.
First Isa West assays (Xstrata JV, Mt Isa) include 42 m at 400 ppm U3O8 and 30 m at 410 ppm. DYL calls it a greenfields discovery. It expects to reach $1m spend by early November, triggering the next earn-in phase ($9m over 4 years).
Matrix and DYL agree that DYL will get 100% of the uranium rights on Matrix's Mt Isa tenements, subject to final documents and a $3m payment by DYL. This replaces the earlier staged path to 51% and then 80%.
Slance North West (Ewen, Matrix JV) RC drilling returned 12 m at 1,338 ppm and 16 m at 964 ppm over 115 m strike, down to 150 m vertical depth, open to the south and at depth. Both RC rigs have moved to Isa West.
Toro finished 2008 Napperby drilling: 333 sonic and 784 aircore holes. Its resource update is now expected in early 2009, slipping from Q4 2008, and the scoping study moves to early 2009. Toro keeps its option to buy 100% from DYL.
2008 annual report: the chairman calls DYL well funded after the July 2007 entitlement issue of over $42m. Namibia holds four licences over 2,681 km2, and Australian licences total 57,521 km2. Its Napperby, Rum Jungle, Uranio and Dragon divestments are described as non-dilutive.
DYL says its chairman and executive directors spoke with Paladin's MD after Paladin lifted its holding to 19.29%. Paladin reiterated that it is a supportive shareholder and had a short-notice chance to raise its stake. No new transaction.
Inca (formerly M1) magnetite prospect in Namibia hit 54 m at 670 ppm eU3O8 (headline 607 ppm), including 11 m at 2,981 ppm, in a separate anomaly 600 m south of the main area. 96 holes are drilled and a second rig added. Gamma results, not yet confirmed by chemical assay.
Paladin bought 44.7m DYL shares on market for about $11.0m, lifting its stake from 15.3% to 19.29% (216.3m shares). It called this a strategic investment, continuing its steady build-up of the holding.
Slance North East (Mt Isa) RC drilling returned 19 m at 774 ppm and 16 m at 427 ppm, tested only to 50 m depth, with follow-up planned. In Namibia a 20,000 m aircore contract went to Wallis Drilling, starting mid-September, replacing two RC rigs.
