Core won a $6M federal Modern Manufacturing Initiative grant to assess a lithium hydroxide plant at Darwin's Middle Arm precinct, following April's hydroxide test work. A feasibility study will follow a scoping study. Construction of the mine is still on track to start before end-2021, subject to financing.
Core signed a two-year grid connection agreement with Power and Water Corporation, securing 5,000 kVA of capacity for Finniss. This closes the open grid power thread. Construction is expected to start before end-2021, with first exports in 2022.
Consultant ERM completed a greenhouse gas assessment of Finniss over its 7.5-year life. Core says Scope 1 and 2 emissions are lower than Western Australian peers on average, and concentrate transport emissions the lowest of any Australian lithium project. ERM will now do a life cycle analysis. No financial impact.
Gold nuggets found at the new Toolebuc prospect extend the Far East gold trend at Bynoe from 1,600m to 2,500m. Core won a $134,810 NT grant, covering 50% of two ~350m diamond holes at Far East, and set up a dedicated gold team. Lithium remains the main focus.
Site visit presentation for Finniss, 22/23 June 2021, in Darwin. Visible text is cautionary notes and restates the 20 May Exploration Target of 9.8-16.2Mt at 0.8-1.4% Li2O. No new information is visible.
Managing Director's Paydirt battery minerals conference presentation, titled 'Australia's Next Lithium Producer'. The visible text is mostly cautionary notes and repeats known resource, reserve and Exploration Target figures; no new results are visible.
Diamond drilling started at Finniss, with RC and RAB rigs to follow in June, as the start of Core's largest lithium campaign. Gold exploration at Bynoe has also restarted. No results yet.
Core signed a 5-year Port Operating Agreement for Darwin Port facilities, covering truck dump, ship loader and conveyor. It converts the non-binding 2017 Heads of Agreement into a binding deal. Core targets first exports in 2022 after an FID expected in coming months.
Core set a new Exploration Target of 9.8-16.2Mt at 0.8-1.4% Li2O across seven prospects, on top of the existing 15Mt @ 1.3% resource. It is conceptual only, not a resource. NT approval to drill the acquisition leases was received.
Core signed drilling contracts for what it calls its largest exploration and resource campaign, with RC and diamond rigs due on site later in May. It aims to more than double resources and mine life; Leviathan drilling approval is still awaited.
Yahua, Core's largest shareholder, plans to lift its lithium hydroxide output from 20,000tpa to 50,000tpa. Core restates its binding offtake of 75,000tpa concentrate to Yahua, about 40% of proposed Finniss output. No new agreement; a restatement of known terms.
A co-funded gravity survey with the NT Government mapped a 20km 'Grants Belt' of lithium pegmatites, running from Kings Table in the north to the Leviathan acquisition in the south. Core plans a large drilling campaign from May and says FID is targeted next quarter.
Scoping-level ANSTO test work turned Finniss concentrate into battery-grade lithium hydroxide, with over 95% lithium extraction. Core is now considering downstream processing; FID is now targeted for Q3 2021, with offtake deals still being negotiated.
Federal Government awarded Finniss Major Project Status for three years, giving a single entry point for federal approvals. Core says construction is anticipated in H2 2021, subject to conditions including FID, with the updated DFS due in H1 2021.
Half-year to 31 Dec 2020: net loss $914,980 (prior year $1.65M). Notes the Feb placement (reported as $40.5M, 162M shares) and the March option on six leases: exercisable to 31 Dec 2021, extendable twice for $250,000 each, plus $25,000 a year to the landowner.

Core signed an option to acquire six granted mineral leases next to Finniss, holding over 30 pegmatites historically mined for tin and tantalum. Aim is to complete the acquisition in 2021 and add resource and mine life; drilling needs approvals, expected next quarter.
ASX paused trading in Core's shares pending a further announcement. Administrative notice with no detail; the reason came the next day with the Finniss-adjacent mineral lease option deal.
600,000 performance rights and 1,000,000 unquoted options lapsed under their terms. Issued shares now stand at 1,164,437,321, with 81,003,467 new $0.45 options expiring 12 February 2023 listed among the unquoted options.
First shallow RAB drilling at Bynoe's Far East gold trend found gold along the whole 1,600m, best 10m @ 1.5g/t from 7m. About a third of 74 holes were above 0.5g/t. Holes average only 20m deep; early reconnaissance, with more drilling likely.
More Grants assays support the resource, including 31m @ 1.65% Li2O and 36m @ 1.34% Li2O. One hole hit about 55m of pegmatite outside the current resource, with assays awaited. A resource upgrade is expected next month and the updated DFS is now stated for Q2 2021.

Core raised $40M through a placement of 160M shares at $0.25 to institutions, a 4% premium to the 20-day VWAP, with one free $0.45 two-year option per two shares. Funds go to Finniss development, resource drilling and working capital; construction is anticipated before year-end, subject to FID.
What it means for a shareholder
160m new shares at $0.250 to raise about $40.0m. Shares on issue before the raise aren't in the record, so the dilution can't be worked out.
At Core's request, ASX suspended trading in its shares pending a share placement announcement, expected by 4 February. This follows a trading halt requested on 1 February. It signals a capital raising is imminent.
January 2021 update presentation by the Managing Director. The visible text is disclaimers and references to earlier studies, resources and reserves, with no new figures. Text is truncated.
Core was granted a 25-year Mineral Lease for the BP33 deposit, its second lithium mining lease after Grants in 2019. This secures development tenure for BP33; the company's earlier-flagged environmental approvals for BP33 are not covered in this announcement.
ASX queried a share price jump from $0.087 to $0.19 and higher volume. Core said it knows of no undisclosed information, pointing to Yahua's reported five-year Tesla supply deal, rising lithium prices, record EV sales and pending drill results.
Core finished its 2020 resource drilling at Grants, with three rigs. The only assay so far is 17m @ 1.51% Li2O, in line with the existing resource. More assays are due in January ahead of an updated resource; Core expects many Inferred tonnes to convert to Indicated.
Core found four new gold prospects along a 1,600m trend at Bynoe, with over 80 gold nuggets (up to 5g), soils to 32g/t and rock chips to 30g/t. Still surface sampling; a short first drilling test is planned before year end. Core says lithium remains its focus.
