Core reports a new Paradise Well South prospect, with two rock samples at 1.1% Cu, 2.5km south of the original find. Soil sampling shows kilometre-scale copper and silver anomalies. Follow-up mapping, soils and geophysics are planned; no drilling yet.
Core says its new 100%-owned application EL 29689 (310km2) hosts a large copper field, with a 5km copper soil anomaly. The rock chips of up to 14.3% Cu and 72.3 g/t Au are historic, from previous explorers. Core plans its first geophysics there in the September quarter.
Mapping at Paradise Well in the Albarta project found a new copper-bearing (malachite) zone up to 10m wide and about 160m long, 100m from April's samples. Magnetite association suggests possible IOCG style. Rock chip and soil assays are due in coming weeks; no assay numbers yet.
Core highlights copper-nickel-platinum group metal targets on its 100%-owned Mordor tenement in Albarta, mostly from earlier Rio Tinto work (30.4m @ 0.25% Cu at Braveheart). Core calls them 'walk-up' drill targets and says Mordor may suit a joint venture.
First assays from the second Fitton program confirm thick uranium at Scott Lee: 60m @ 482ppm U3O8 (including 4m @ 3,100ppm) in SLRC028, and 75m @ 268ppm in SLRC029. This backs up the earlier scintillometer readings; remaining assays are due late May.
Re-assays confirm very high-grade surface samples at Blueys: up to 2.2 kg/t (2,200 g/t) silver and about 10% copper. This resolves the earlier over-limit silver readings. Soil surveys are under way to pick targets for Albarta's first drilling in 2013.
Reconnaissance mapping found copper at surface at the new Paradise Well prospect in Albarta, with a best sample of 1.6% copper, 2km from an earlier 3.8% copper sample. Magnetite association may suggest IOCG style. Soil sampling follows to prioritise drill targets.
Follow-up drilling at Scott Lee shows strongly elevated radioactivity readings, including 77m averaging 442 cps. The Scott Lee structure is now drilled over 1km and is open below 150m depth. These are handheld readings, not assays; assays are due early May.
Mapping and rock-chip sampling at the Yerelina tenement (EL 5015) found up to 567 g/t silver and 15.11% combined lead and zinc, with mineralisation more than 1km beyond old workings. Gravity surveys are under way to define drill targets. Surface results only.
A 2,500m RC drilling program has restarted at Fitton to test strike and depth extensions of the Scott Lee uranium discovery, plus Hamilton and the new western surface target. Assays are expected progressively through April.
First Core rock-chip sampling at Blueys, part of Albarta in the NT, returned over 1,500 g/t silver and up to 9% copper at surface. Silver exceeded standard assay limits and is being retested; drilling is targeted mid-2013. Early-stage surface results only.
New surface rock-chip sampling at Fitton found up to 1,412ppm (0.14%) U3O8, 300m west of the nearest Scott Lee drill hole, widening the known uranium area. It extends the discovery beyond the drilled zone; follow-up drilling is planned for March.
First results from the 2km Hamilton target at Fitton, two kilometres from Scott Lee: best 3m @ 104ppm U3O8 and 7m @ 1,020ppm copper from four shallow holes. Modest grades, but the geology matches Scott Lee. More drilling is planned before end of March.
Remaining Scott Lee assays confirm the discovery, including a new broad 29m intersection at 0.01% U3O8, with mineralisation open both directions. Soil sampling is under way, and follow-up RC drilling at Scott Lee is planned before the end of March, subject to land access approval.
Core's first Fitton drilling hit uranium at Scott Lee, best 14m @ 0.10% U3O8 including 5m @ 0.25%, with mineralisation open in both directions. Only the highest-reading samples are reported; assays from 15 holes are due mid-December. Follow-up drilling is planned early 2013.
A 2,000m reverse circulation drill program has started at Fitton, testing Scott Lee, Choppy and several nearby magnetic look-alike targets. It is Core's first drilling at Fitton. First assay results are expected by late November.
Rock chips at the new Choppy prospect, 400m from Scott Lee at Fitton, assayed up to 4.7% copper with gold and silver. Three more magnetic targets were identified. Follow-up assays are now due late September; first drilling still planned for later in 2012.
Copper mineral (malachite) found in outcrop about 400m southwest of Scott Lee at Fitton, plus a gold target 2km southwest (0.91 g/t). Confirms the new magnetic targets carry copper at surface. Assays due end of August; first drilling still planned late 2012.
Ground magnetic surveys at Fitton found new targets resembling Scott Lee, including a 1,400m by 250m anomaly 2km southwest. Whether they are mineralised is unproven; follow-up sampling is underway and the first drill program is planned later in 2012, subject to approvals.
Fitton rock chip sampling at the Scott Lee prospect returned 0.34% U3O8 (3,370ppm), a four-fold rise on the previous best uranium value, 200m from a copper sample above 5%. Drilling is now planned for August/September 2012.
Final assays from the 2,000m Yorke Peninsula program show more low-level copper, best new result 5m at 0.1% copper including 1m at 0.36% in WTDD008. Core calls it low grade but says it supports targeting for higher grades. Completes the April/May assay thread.
First assays from the maiden Yorke Peninsula diamond program gave multiple copper intersections, and Core plans an expanded diamond program from June. Fitton drilling is now set for early in the September quarter, and Core is considering a partner for Roxby South.
The maiden 2,000m diamond program saw visible copper sulphides in all three holes at the Wauraltee prospect, within IOCG-style alteration up to 15m wide. Only visual logging so far; no assays yet, and the company describes the copper as low-level. Assays are due in April.
Core started a 2,000-2,500m diamond drilling program with two rigs on its 100%-owned Yorke Peninsula project, testing six gravity-magnetic targets next to Rex's Hillside. Drilling was expected to take about a month, with first assays due in April.
New rock chip sampling at Fitton found a second shear zone 200m north of the main one, with 121ppm uranium. Another sample in the main zone gave 157ppm uranium. Infill sampling is planned for March and drilling for Q2 2012.
Fitton soil and mapping work extended the copper-uranium anomaly to about 1,500m long and up to 1,000m wide, and the shear zone to over 2km, up from the 650m mapped earlier. Drilling of priority targets is now planned for Q2 2012.
First Yorke Peninsula air-core drilling gave anomalous copper and high silver at two prospects, e.g. 182ppm copper and 6.7g/t silver at Target A. Only three of six targets reached basement. Follow-up drilling is planned around January 2012, and an airborne EM survey is planned.
Core has started its first drilling since listing: the 4,000m air-core program on Yorke Peninsula's gravity and magnetic targets. Drilling should take about 3 weeks, with assays 6 to 8 weeks after. This follows the July delay.
Surface rock chips from the Mt Painter project assayed up to 10.5% copper and 624ppm uranium, from a shear zone up to 25m wide mapped over 650m. Core will return for more detailed mapping and sampling. Only surface samples so far.
Core doubled its maiden Yorke Peninsula air-core program to 4,000m after gravity results. Drilling slips from mid-June to mid-July because the contractor is delayed. Soil results are due in July, and Mt Painter rock chip assays are also expected in July.
