New BP33 diamond hole FMRD004 hit 42.9m at 1.39% Li2O, with similar-looking core to the 86m hole FMRD007, whose assays are due in March. A first BP33 resource estimate is planned to start late March. Follow-up drilling is planned for the Q2 dry season.
Half-year to 31 December 2017 shows a net loss of $1,326,325 (prior year $878,544). Core raised $4.3M through a placement and option exercises, and paid $1.5M cash plus 39,232,025 shares for the Bynoe lithium ground. Reviewed by Grant Thornton.
Administrative notice that 13,077,342 shares held in voluntary escrow will be released after 7 March 2018. This is the first of the three Liontown tranches issued in the Bynoe deal, so those shares become freely tradeable.
Diamond hole FRCD007 at BP33 intersected 86m of spodumene pegmatite and ended still in it, the widest in the NT. This is a visual estimate, not assays, at 15-20% spodumene. Minimum true width is at least 40m; more drilling is planned in the Q2 dry season.
New BP33 assays include 36m at 1.61% Li2O in FRC108 and 49m at 1.02% in FMRD003. The pegmatite is open south toward BP32 and BP32W, which could give about 500m of strike if connected (inference from text). A maiden BP33 resource is targeted for March.
First Core drilling on the Bynoe ground hit high grades at four historic pegmatite prospects, including 10m at 1.6% Li2O at Carlton and 5m at 2.2% at Hang Gong. Pegmatites are shallow-dipping and within 5km of Grants. Follow-up drilling is planned when the dry season starts.
Resource infill drilling began at Grants with two rigs and a third due, to upgrade the 1.8Mt at 1.5% Li2O resource's confidence. First assays are due in February and an updated resource in March 2018, feeding the PFS. Metallurgical and geotechnical drilling is included.
Diamond drilling resumed at BP33 for a maiden resource, which would be Core's second deposit at Finniss. Only previously reported intercepts are repeated. December diamond core assays are due in coming weeks; the rig moves to Grants in early February.
Core's first drilling at Sandras on the acquired Bynoe ground hit 27m at 1.45% Li2O (including 7m at 2.13%) and 38m at 1.08%. This shows spodumene pegmatite beyond Grants and BP33. Further drilling is planned for 2018.
Remaining BP33 assays extend hole FRC104 to 62m at 1.24% Li2O, adding to November's 54m at 1.42%. Pegmatite is open north and south and thicker at depth. Diamond drilling continues toward a first BP33 resource; FRC105's 8m of pegmatite returned no significant lithium.
December company update repeats the Yahua offtake and US$20M prepayment, the Grants mining lease application and Darwin Port agreement. PFS due Q1 2018, targeting first production mid-2019. Shows about 496M shares, about $5M cash at 30 Nov and a share price of about $0.09. No new results.
Core signed a binding offtake with Yahua for 1 million dry tonnes of Finniss DSO, plus a conditional US$20M prepayment, repayable in DSO or concentrate. Drawdown needs a mining licence, a feasibility study and a decision to mine by 31 Dec 2019. First deliveries targeted mid-2019.

Yahua's second $1M tranche (16.7M shares at 6c) completed after shareholder approval, taking Yahua to 33.4M shares, or 6.73%. Core also issued 1.5M options at 7c and 2.9M performance rights to staff. Binding offtake still pending.
What it means for a shareholder
16.7m new shares at $0.060 to raise about $1.0m. Shares on issue before the raise aren't in the record, so the dilution can't be worked out.
BP33 assays confirm wide high-grade lithium: 54m at 1.42% Li2O in FRC103 and 46m at 1.51% in FRC104, among the widest in the NT. Diamond drilling has begun toward a first BP33 resource, which Core expects to add to Finniss resources.
Bynoe drilling update: a 4,000m RC program started at Sandras, with shallow RAB at Hang Gong, running to December. Hole FRC105 hit pegmatite at BP33's southern end, and diamond drilling at BP33 starts next week. Grants infill drilling is planned for December.
First Core holes at BP33 on the newly acquired Bynoe ground hit the widest spodumene pegmatite yet there, including 55m in FRC103 and a 65m total in FRC104. These are visual estimates; assays are due within four weeks. Earlier best was 38m at 1.5% Li2O.
Core lodged its Notice of Intent with the NT environmental regulator, the first environmental approval step for a Grants mine, following last month's mining lease application. Infill drilling starts December, with an updated resource expected early 2018. Yahua offtake talks are expected to conclude end of November.
Liontown confirms it completed the Bynoe sale to Core for $1.5M cash and 39,232,025 Core shares (about 8.2%). A further $1.5M in cash or shares is payable if a resource over 5Mt is defined at Bynoe. Same deal as Core's announcement.
7 Nov 2017asset acquisition disposition▲ GoodMajor
Core completed the Bynoe acquisition from Liontown, paying $1.5M cash and issuing 39,232,025 shares, escrowed in three tranches to November 2018. Finniss plus Bynoe now cover over 500km2, with a granted mining lease about 1km from Grants. Drilling this month.
Core and Yahua extended the sunset date for the second $1M placement tranche and the framework agreement from 31 October to 30 November 2017. Tranche 2 still awaits Chinese regulatory approval; binding offtake for Finniss DSO is still unsigned.
Core applied for a mineral lease over the 100%-owned Grants deposit, the key permit step toward a DSO mine. This delivers the mining lease application flagged earlier; the Yahua offtake remains under negotiation.
2017 annual report restates the Grants resource of 1.8Mt at 1.5% Li2O (492kt Indicated, 1,312kt Inferred) as at 30 June 2017, with no change from May. The visible text carries no new figures.
Surface sampling at Barrow Creek (2,342 soil, 404 rock chip samples) identified 13 pegmatite targets, 3 high priority, and a 5km Tesla lithium soil anomaly. Best rock chip is 0.6% Li2O. Early-stage; no drilling yet.
RIU conference presentation repeats the Grants resource, Yahua placement and offtake talks, Darwin Port agreement and the Liontown Bynoe acquisition. It cites about 440M shares, about $7M cash and market cap about $22M. Adds planned 6-8 RC step-out holes at BP33.
Core agreed to buy Liontown's adjacent Bynoe lithium project, including a mining lease about 1km from Grants and the extension of BP33 (38m at 1.5% Li2O). It adds over 50 historic pegmatite prospects. Price and terms are in Liontown's release.
Liontown is selling Bynoe to Core for $1.5M cash plus $2M in Core shares, with a further $1.5M if a 5Mt resource is defined. Shares are escrowed 12 months; deal needs ministerial approvals. Liontown ends with about 8.2% of Core.
Liontown corrects its earlier release: it will receive 39,232,025 Core shares, not 32,232,025, representing 8.2% of Core's issued capital. Correction only, no new deal terms.
First Ringwood RC drilling (35 holes) hit pegmatites up to 150m true width, with best intersections 52m at 0.14% Li2O and 21m at 0.16%. Grades are low, only anomalous, but show lithium potential; a second shallow phase starts this month.
Of the listed 5c options expiring 31 August, 17,352,312 were exercised into shares and 66,848,115 lapsed. Shares quoted now total 440,388,835. Exercise raised far less than the full-exercise case of about $5.1M (inference).
