21 Feb 2019resource reserve update▲ GoodMajor
Spherical graphite PFS projects a combined concentrate and spherical operation with post-tax NPV10 of A$889m, IRR 53% and total capital A$221.5m. Spherical plant capex is A$89.9m. These are prefeasibility-level projections that depend on an assumed A$4,800/t spherical price.
Final 31 DFS drill holes, including all 15 diamond holes, add more shallow high-grade graphite, e.g. 39m at 9.1% from 29m. This completes the infill program and suggests the initial pits could be extended. An updated resource and reserve are expected next quarter.
Independent tests upgraded Siviour concentrate to 99.95-99.96% carbon using caustic roasting, rather than hydrofluoric acid, reaching battery grade. Renascor expects lower costs and will update the spherical graphite PFS, due this quarter. These were early sighter tests only.
Assays from a further 44 infill holes show more shallow high-grade graphite, e.g. 35m at 13.2% from 26m. Intersections between and beside the PFS pits suggest the DFS mining schedule could improve. Remaining results to feed the resource update.
First 36 of 99 DFS infill holes confirm shallow high-grade graphite, e.g. 25m at 14.0% TGC from 12m. Supports continuity in the Indicated Resource and feeds a planned resource and reserve update. Assays for 63 holes still pending.
Pilot plant in China processed about 18 tonnes of Siviour ore, achieving the PFS target of 95% TGC with average recovery of 93% (peak 94.8%) versus 91% assumed. Concentrate will serve as marketing samples for offtake talks. More runs are under way.
First phase of feasibility drilling finished: 99 holes, 4,691m, with every infill hole hitting graphite and visual continuity with the resource model. Northern holes suggest possible extensions. Diamond phase (15 holes, 800m) continues; assays due later this month.
Infill drilling started at Siviour for the feasibility study: up to 4,000m of air core and reverse circulation plus up to 1,000m of diamond core, over six to eight weeks. It also aims to expand near-surface high-grade zones. Company says it is funded with $8.2m cash.
Locked-cycle tests gave 95.9% total carbon concentrate at 93% recovery, versus 91% in earlier batch tests. A simpler flowsheet dropping one regrind and one cleaner stage may cut plant capital. Supports the March PFS parameters ahead of the feasibility study.
Review of historical data identifies new cobalt targets at the 100%-owned Farina Project (e.g. 32m at 655ppm Co at West Willouran), with drilling expected next quarter. Olary drilling approvals are being sought, with drilling expected near the end of 2018.
Soil and rock chip sampling at Olary (100%) strengthens cobalt targets: Bulloo Creek shows an 800m by 400m cobalt-in-soil zone over a magnetic anomaly, and Shorts Dam gossans add support. Renascor will seek immediate drill approvals; no drilling yet.
Review of historical data widens cobalt targets at Shorts Dam (Olary, 100%): gossan with elevated cobalt over about 1km, plus a new magnetic target near old hole SP04 (15m at 0.14% Co). Renascor plans surface sampling and ground magnetics, with drilling in view. Graphite remains core focus.
Prefeasibility study completed with a maiden Ore Reserve of 45.2Mt at 7.9% TGC. Large-scale case: US$500m NPV10, 62% IRR, US$335/t cost. Staged case: US$29m start-up capital, 47% IRR. Renascor moves straight to the definitive feasibility study and funding talks.
Review of historical drilling at the 100%-owned Munglinup project in WA finds nickel-cobalt targets, best old result 9.1m at 0.11% Co and 1.0% Ni at Boanaernup. Follows the Olary cobalt review; early-stage, and Siviour graphite stays the core focus.
Review of historical Olary drilling identifies cobalt targets at Bulloo Creek and Shorts Dam, with a headline 2m at 0.87% Co (later corrected). Renascor will evaluate cobalt options, but says Siviour graphite remains its core focus.
Airborne electromagnetic survey confirms Siviour's shallow, flat-lying shape and shows near-surface extensions towards the Buckies and Paxtons prospects, adjoining the Indicated Resource. Follows the May scoping study; no new resource figure, and data will feed mine planning.
Scoping study (BatteryLimits) for a 20-year, 123,000tpa open pit and plant: after-tax NPV10 of A$551m, IRR 59%, capex A$144m, cash cost A$450/t. Preliminary; extra funding likely needed, possibly dilutive. Resolves the open scoping study thread; feasibility work follows.
Siviour resource upgraded to 80.6Mt at 7.9% TGC for 6.4Mt contained graphite (from 60.8Mt, 4.7Mt); Indicated 51.8Mt. Higher-grade 30.1Mt at 10.0% (from 22.2Mt). Now ranked ninth largest Indicated graphite resource reported worldwide, per the company.
Assays confirm the eastern extension, e.g. 27m at 11.6% TGC (Siv080) and 22m at 10.5% TGC (Siv098); northeast holes include 44m at 8.2%. A resource upgrade is expected next week, with metallurgical results later in March.
A 34-hole, 1,800m drill program finished at Siviour. Visible graphite in 12 eastern holes suggests the shallow +10% TGC zone extends at least another 1km east of the Indicated Resource. Assays due in 2-3 weeks; revised resource expected in March.
Final assays show a shallow +10% TGC zone about 1km long along the southern edge of the Indicated Resource, with potential to extend at least 1km east. Ten of eleven holes hit graphite. A follow-up drill program of up to 2,000m has started.
First assays from the 11-hole program confirm a shallow +10% TGC zone along the southern edge of the Indicated Resource, e.g. 32m at 9.6% from 13m, under about 8m of cover. It extends southeast and remains open. The scoping study is expanded to a large-scale case.
Renascor completed the purchase of the remaining 51% of Eyre Peninsula Minerals, taking it to 100%, by issuing about 42.07m shares and 15m $0.05 options expiring 5 December 2019. This resolves the AGM-approval condition; the Ausmin option still requires a bankable feasibility study.
A 1,000m large-diameter core drilling program began at Siviour to collect sample for metallurgical testing, including up to six holes in the expanded Indicated zones and up to six in higher-grade (+10% TGC) areas. Feeds the pre-feasibility test program; results released on completion.
Siviour resource nearly quadrupled from 16.8Mt at 7.4% TGC to 60.8Mt at 7.8% TGC, holding 4.7Mt of contained graphite, including 22.2Mt at 10.0%. Resolves the pending upgrade after the drilling. Company says it is funded with about $2.7m cash; the deposit remains open.
Final assays from the 31-hole program show thick shallow graphite east of the Indicated Resource (e.g. 35m at 8.7% TGC) and confirm at least 1km of continuity to the west. A revised JORC resource is expected after modelling, which could expand the current 16.8Mt.
First assays from 14 western holes at Siviour give the highest grades yet, up to 26.0% TGC, and confirm the graphite body extends at least 1km west of the Indicated Resource. Remaining assays are due within two weeks, then resource modelling begins.
Siviour reverse circulation program of 31 holes (2,100m) finished; by visual inspection 21 of 23 western holes hit significant graphite, and six of eight eastern holes did too. Suggests the mineralised body extends about 1km west and two zones about 1km east. Assays pending.
Drilling restarted at Siviour: up to 3,000m of reverse circulation holes testing the new EM anomalies, west of the Indicated Resource first. Runs to early August, with assays two to three weeks later. Aims at a possible resource upgrade.
Ground EM surveys at Siviour found conductivity anomalies, including a western one in the Inferred Resource that the company says is about ten times more conductive than the Indicated area. Company sees potential for higher-grade or thicker graphite; drilling to start this week. Targets are unproven until drilled.
