2 July 2021drilling progress report● Neutral
Halls Creek field work finished 1 July 2021, with 454 soil and 35 rock samples collected across the four tenements. Lab results are expected in up to 4 weeks. Follow-up will likely need helicopter support.
Halls Creek field exploration was to start 19 June 2021, subject to any COVID restrictions. It will go by vehicle and foot as no helicopter was available. This ends the 2020 deferral of work on the four 100%-held tenements.
Follow-up drilling at Holey Dam Area E and Canegrass Area F is now planned for Q2 2021, pending a heritage survey and WA regulator approval. Halls Creek field work is planned for the 2021 season after having no field work in 2020.
Aircore assays are in, after lab delays. Best results: 1 m at 3.96 ppm gold at Canegrass (in a 4 m at 0.16 ppm interval) and 4 m at 0.42 ppm at Holey Dam. RC follow-up is planned for Q1 2021 at both. Modest but mixed results for the weak 2019 anomalies.
The Aircore program finished on 20 September 2020: 50 holes, 1,866 m, average depth 37 m, across Canegrass and Holey Dam. Assays are expected in 2 to 3 weeks and further drilling will be decided after them.
Holey Dam's 25 holes (1,000 m) are finished and the first of 25 planned Canegrass holes has started. This continues the Aircore program that began 15 September 2020; no assay results yet.
Drilling began at Canegrass and Holey Dam: a 50-hole, 2,000m RAB/Aircore program, 25 holes each, run by BMGS with Raglan Drilling. It tests the weak 2019 gold anomalies and follows delays, ahead of ASX's 23 October 2020 deadline.
Pegging of 50 Aircore holes is complete and a 24 June heritage survey found no cultural issues. The Program of Works is still being prepared, with drilling now targeted for the first half of August 2020.
Field work restarts using a Kalgoorlie contractor team, with collar marking from 15 June and a heritage survey 22-24 June. The 2,000m Aircore program at Canegrass and Holey Dam is targeted to start early August 2020. Responds in part to the ASX operations concern.
Work program for 2020/2021: up to 1,000m of RAB/Aircore at Canegrass (A$152,000 budget covers the drilling) and up to 1,000m at Holey Dam, starting once WA travel eases. Halls Creek Phase 1 (A$82,000) and Phase 2 (A$104,000) are pushed to Q2 2021. Funded by Yitai facility.
Follow-up filing giving hole-by-hole data for the Gindalbie vacuum drilling, as required under the listing rules. It adds tables of hole locations to the 12 September results and no new conclusions.
Vacuum drilling finished 15 August: 387 holes, 1,516m. Results are only weak gold anomalies, 10-25 ppb at Canegrass plus a 0.248 ppm quartz float sample at Holey Dam. Several areas are flagged for deeper drilling; no ore-grade intercepts reported.
Drilling began 20 June 2019 at Canegrass and Holey Dam, part of the Gindalbie Gold Project. Up to 397 shallow vacuum holes (maximum 12m) are planned. This is the first drilling since the weak Jungle Hill results of 2018; the heritage survey is complete.
Jungle Hill RC results were weak: best gold was 4m at 0.729ppm, and the banded iron zone was narrow and low grade (about 18% Fe at depth). Minor copper and zinc intercepts. Further analysis of selected intervals is planned.
Drilling at Jungle Hill finished: 17 RC holes for 2,023m, begun 12 September 2018, with results to follow. Separately, the four Halls Creek cobalt/nickel/copper licences were granted for 5 years from 31 August 2018, resolving the native title wait.
Soil sampling at Jungle Hill and Eight Mile (506 soil, 32 rock samples) found low-level gold, 5-16ppb at Jungle Hill and 4-10ppb at Eight Mile, plus elevated arsenic to 1640ppm in Jungle Hill rocks. More surface sampling is planned; no drilling yet.
Surface sampling at Bustler Bore (iron, 100%, 70km north of Newman) found 58-60% Fe channel iron mineralisation, from 249 handheld readings and 19 rock samples. This delivers the awaited assays; it is surface work only, with no drilling or resource yet.
Phase 2 soil sampling at Jungle Hill, Canegrass and Holey Dam (657 soil, 42 rock samples) found elevated gold in soil at all three and a gossanous quartz vein at Jungle Hill. Targets will be reviewed for aircore drilling in the first half of 2018, later than the earlier Q3 2017 plan.
Kaili booked a maiden JORC 2012 Inferred in-situ gasification coal resource of 97 million tonnes at Maryvale (EPC1506, 100%), based on 2010 and 2016 drilling. This delivers the resource due in Q1 2017; exploration targets of 80-125Mt are conceptual only.
Soil and rock sampling at Canegrass, Gindalbie Dam and Holey Dam (531 soil, 31 rock samples) found gold-in-soil anomalies of 5-16 ppb at Canegrass. Further soil sampling is planned for Q2 2017, with drilling of top targets planned for Q3 2017.
Final coal quality results for Maryvale are in, from four holes (WK16C to WK19) with 27 samples; WK15 hit only basalt. Bulwer Seam found in all other holes and Condamine Seam in WK17. Seam correlation work is under way; no resource figure yet.
First handheld-XRF soil sampling on the new WA gold tenements: 13 traverses, 361 sites at Jungle Hill, Canegrass and Gindalbie Dam. Elevated gold readings noted at Canegrass and five follow-up targets identified. Rain stopped work at 8 Mile and Holey Dam. Partial assays only.
Re-release of the 24 June Maryvale drilling announcement (dated 28 June), with the same content: 6 holes, 1,228m, Bulwer Seam hit in all but WK15. Preliminary results; coal quality analysis still to come.
Maryvale drilling finished: 6 holes (5 chip, 1 part-cored) totalling 1,228m. All but one hit the targeted Bulwer Seam; WK15 in EPC1539 ended in basalt. Results are preliminary, with coal quality analysis still to come.
Drilling began on 9 June 2016 at the Maryvale coal project in Queensland, starting in EPC1539 and then moving to 5 sites in EPC1506. This starts the drilling program that was planned for the June quarter.
