Monax outlined six months of planned work at Western Queen: two diamond holes (900m) below the pit, two RC holes (240m) to the north, and 1,000m of aircore. It also applied for two new Murchison lithium licences, Bald Hill and Black Hill.
Monax booked a first Western Queen resource of 0.96Mt at 3.9 g/t for 120,000 oz gold (Indicated and Inferred), including 83,000 oz at Western Queen South from its recent drilling. Delivers the resource promised for January; both deposits remain open down-plunge.
Western Queen South drilling hit 3.3m at 7.98 g/t gold, confirming high-grade continuity at least 60m beyond earlier drilling, and the zone remains open. A resource estimate is now expected by end of January 2018; more drilling follows in the June quarter.
The maiden Western Queen program finished with five diamond holes at Western Queen South, one more than planned. Assays are due mid-January 2018, with a resource estimate targeted for mid-February 2018.
Diamond drilling started at Western Queen, with four holes planned at Western Queen South ahead of a new resource estimate. Drilling should finish before Christmas, with results shortly after.
Monax signed a binding term sheet to earn 60% of Ramelius's Western Queen gold project (WA) by spending $2m over three years. The site previously produced 188,800 oz at 8.9 g/t; Monax expects a resource estimate in the December 2017 quarter.
Monax plans Croydon drilling at Gilded Rose and Jumbo, aiming for a maiden JORC resource, starting within weeks after approvals and the Share Purchase Plan. Historical hits include 10m at 10.8 g/t gold. More surface sampling is planned at four untested prospects.
Second Percyville program (15 holes, 991m) hit 10m at 11.1 g/t gold from 7m, plus 12m at 2.1 g/t. Veins are about 10m wide and open along strike and at depth. Further drilling is planned, to be funded from the Share Purchase Plan.
Second-round drilling started at Percyville, up to 10 holes over about a week on the three new IP targets, with results about three weeks later. Monax intends to fund drilling, including Croydon, from the open Share Purchase Plan.
A follow-up IP survey at Percyville outlined three new drill targets (northern, central and deep chargeable features). Drilling is planned within weeks. These are geophysical targets only; no new drilling results.
Croydon rock chips returned gold up to 263 g/t at Sarina Gem; 18 of 31 samples exceeded 1 g/t. Separately, Iluka has withdrawn from the Phar Lap farm-in, ending the earn-in for up to 80% announced earlier.
Field mapping and sampling started at Croydon, with a mid-2017 drilling program aimed at a maiden JORC resource. The Percyville IP survey starts within days. Litchfield's 16-hole lithium drilling is postponed by the wet season, pending approvals.
Monax plans a 16-hole reverse circulation lithium program at Litchfield targeting four areas, starting late April 2017 once the management plan is approved (expected in 4-6 weeks). Percyville IP survey and follow-up drilling are planned for April, and Croydon field work for the coming weeks.
Auger sampling south of EL 28462 found anomalous lithium (over 100 ppm) on the Black Soil plains, adding a further drill target. Up to seven areas now warrant drilling in 2017 after the wet season.
More Litchfield sampling found a new anomalous zone east of Tank Hill (soil up to 190 ppm Li) and a rock chip of 7.25% Li2O. Up to seven areas now warrant drilling; maiden drilling now planned for Q2 2017.
Litchfield soil sampling outlined six priority lithium targets, with lithium up to 420 ppm and 1% tin; Tank Hill reached 230 ppm. Maiden drilling is planned for early 2017 after the wet season. Surface results only, no drilling yet.
Maiden Percyville drilling found shallow gold in 12 of 14 holes, best 19m at 2.85 g/t (including 4m at 9.4 g/t) and a peak of 23 g/t over 1m. An IP survey comes first, with follow-up drilling planned for early 2017.
Litchfield soil, auger and costean sampling finished, and the maiden Percyville drilling finished (14 holes, 860m); results due within 1-2 weeks. Monax is also withdrawing from Mt Ringwood, ending that gold thread.
IP surveys at Percyville found chargeable targets that may be tested by shallow drilling, planned to start early November. Litchfield costeaning and auger sampling approved pending a security bond, due within weeks. Next step after the Percyville option signing.
Further Litchfield rock chips gave lithium up to 8.03% Li2O at White Rocks and 7.62% at Tank Hill, above the earlier 7.55%. Costeaning and auger plans submitted, drilling targeted late 2016. Monax withdrew from Bullock Creek to focus on Litchfield.
Monax signed a binding term sheet for an option over Percyville mining lease ML 30216 and permit EPM 25370 in Queensland. Cost: 4m shares plus $500,000 within 18 months. Surface samples averaged 10.3 g/t gold, up to 62.5 g/t. A new gold thread.
Monax signed a binding term sheet to earn 90% of three Litchfield exploration licences in the NT, about 110km south of Darwin, by spending $1.5m on drilling within 24 months. Surface samples assayed up to 7.55% Li2O. A new lithium thread beyond Bullock Creek.
Maiden Mt Ringwood drilling gave a best result of 8.6 g/t gold over 1m at Great Northern, with most holes showing anomalous gold above 0.5 g/t. Only narrow quartz zones were hit. Monax plans an IP survey and trenching at Star of the North; no resource defined.
Croydon gold rock chips returned up to 87.8 g/t at Vanderbilt and 21.2 g/t at Lost Chance (17 samples; not considered highly representative). The 10 Bullock Creek lithium samples gave insignificant results, a setback after the earlier 3.55% Li2O sample. Drill results still pending.
Sampling is finished at Bullock Creek lithium (10 samples; EPM 26053 now offered for grant) and Croydon gold (17 samples; EPM 26038 granted). Results are due within a week. Lithium drilling could start in the September 2016 quarter if sampling is positive.
Maiden Mt Ringwood drilling finished: nine holes for 564m (six Great Northern, two Great Western, one Star of the North), one fewer than the ten planned. Gold specks were found on drill pads. Assay results are due in 2-3 weeks, within the rights issue offer period.

Monax signed a binding term sheet to earn 80% of Queensland lithium tenement EPM 26053 by spending $500,000 within 18 months. A rock chip assayed 3.55% Li2O. It also applied for an adjoining tenement, adding a lithium project beside its gold focus.
Government approvals for the maiden Mt Ringwood drilling program have been received. Ten holes at Great Northern, Great Western and Star of the North are expected to start within two weeks and take about one week. This resolves the approvals wait.
The 15 new Mt Ringwood rock chips returned 8 samples above 1 g/t gold, with a top result of 143 g/t, south of the Goodall mine. These areas are not in the drilling program. Drilling start is now expected in early May 2016, later than the earlier early-April target.
