Geologist's Punt Hill presentation repeats known geology and results. Next steps listed: second Whistlepig hole, Prairie Dog and Marmot holes, and infill drilling on the Groundhog Gravity Trend. Airborne magnetics survey complete. No new results.
Chairman's AGM address reviews the year and announces a free bonus option for every five shares held at 30 December 2006, exercisable at $1.20 and expiring 31 December 2007. Subject to a prospectus and ASX approval.
All AGM resolutions passed, including adoption of the remuneration report and re-election of director Glenn Davis. Proxy votes were overwhelmingly in favour. Routine admin.
MD's AGM presentation recaps the year: 6,500 gravity points, Bonaventura zinc (best 16m @ 3.43% Zn), and three Punt Hill holes with copper sulphides over 3.6km. Flickertail, the eighth hole, hit granite at 364m with minor alteration and stopped near 450m.
First assays: Whistlepig hole returned 60m at 0.13% copper and 0.03 g/t gold from 788m, a low grade. Second and third hole assays await. Sixth hole, Punxsutawney Phil, confirms the second alteration system over 2.3km. Monax plans a second Whistlepig hole.
Fifth hole, Beauregard Lee, confirmed a second iron-oxide alteration system with intense hematite alteration and breccia, but no copper mineralisation is reported. Gravity anomalies will be remodelled to place later holes more accurately.
Fourth hole, Wiarton Willy, 8.7km northwest, found altered sandstone and shale with only minor disseminated chalcopyrite to 846m. Monax says it shows a second alteration system, but no strong copper sulphides like earlier holes.
Havilah Resources, not Monax, notes it holds a 10% stake in Monax and neighbouring EL 2979, where Red Metal is earning 70% by spending $1m. Comments on Monax's Punt Hill copper sulphides awaiting assays. Third-party release.
September quarter report repeating the first three Punt Hill holes with visible copper sulphides over 3.6km. The Punt Hill program is now described as 20 holes costing about $2m. New Pioneer Bend application on Kangaroo Island.
Annual report and notice for the AGM on 29 November 2006 mailed to shareholders. Business includes accounts, remuneration report and re-election of director Glenn Davis. Routine admin.
Third Punt Hill hole, Groundhog, found visible bornite and chalcopyrite from 817m to 960m, with basement at 714m. Three holes along 3.6km now show copper sulphides; assays still pending. Rig moves to Wiarton Willy.
Woodchuck finished at 975m. Below about 790m the hole passed from mineralised breccia into altered shales and carbonates with visible pyrite and chalcopyrite. Rig has moved to the Groundhog target.
Woodchuck, the second Punt Hill hole, found visible bornite and chalcopyrite from 620m to 786m, with basement at 589m, 132m shallower than Whistlepig. Second target with copper sulphides; assays pending. Groundhog is next.
Whistlepig hole stopped at 966m, the rig's capacity, still in mineralised hematite breccia with visible bornite and chalcopyrite from 751m. Samples going for assay. Second hole, Woodchuck, started and is at 300m.
Annual financial report for year to 30 June 2006, with directors' report and board details. Provided text is truncated, so no financial figures can be stated here.
First Punt Hill hole (Whistlepig) hit altered volcanics at 721m, then hematite breccia with visible bornite and chalcopyrite (copper minerals), still mineralised at 771m. Encouraging but visual only; assays pending. Up to 13 targets remain.
Drilling has started at Punt Hill after the rig delay, expected to take 3 to 5 months with each hole 5-8 days. Eleven priority targets are listed, starting with Whistlepig at 250-500m estimated depth. Results to be released as received.
Dr Justin Gum appointed Senior Exploration Geologist, taking charge of Bonaventura on Kangaroo Island and also helping nickel exploration on Eyre Peninsula. Aeromagnetic results are expected to help design the next Bonaventura drilling. A staff hire, not a board change.
Rig delay at Punt Hill resolved; rig now expected on site Monday 4 September 2006. That is later than the 'last week of August' given four days earlier. Monax's team is on site preparing.
Punt Hill drilling start slips about a week because the rig is delayed for reasons outside Monax's control. Start now expected in the last week of August 2006, pushing back the second-week-of-August timing.
June quarter report: Punt Hill gravity infill and rig confirmed, with drilling due second week of August (initial 10 holes, about $1m, doubling to 20 if encouraging). Bonaventura zinc zone confirmed over 300m by 250m. New applications: Indooroopilly (uranium) and Kolendo (gold).
Bonaventura RC drilling confirmed zinc mineralisation over 300m by 250m, with intersections such as 16m at 3.43% zinc in BVRC03. Three southern holes ended in mineralisation. Groundwater stopped holes reaching target depth, so a diamond rig will follow.
Monax plans up to $2 million of drilling at Punt Hill: ten holes costing about $1 million, doubling to 20 if results are encouraging. Drilling is expected to start in the second week of August, with 14 priority targets and detailed gravity underway. Targets are expected at 250-400 metres depth.
Bonaventura drilling is five of nine holes in, with visible zinc and lead over 10m in BVRC03 and copper mineralisation in BVRC04 and BVRC05. The Brimpton Lake licence (EL 3561) was granted. Assay results are expected in about two weeks.
Monax secured a rig for its first Bonaventura drilling, due to start 30 May 2006: at least eight RC holes to 250 metres, about 2,200 metres total. It follows earlier soil work and Havilah's 5m at 26.9% zinc intersection three years ago.
Quarterly report to 31 March 2006: drill rigs secured for four projects: Punt Hill (at least ten gravity targets), Bonaventura (eight RC holes), Ambrosia (26 uranium holes plus four deep copper-gold holes) and Dingo Hill (three diamond holes with SA government PACE support).
March monthly report repeating known items: Bonaventura soil anomalies extend the zinc-lead footprint, two Ambrosia tenement applications, and a Dingo Hill copper-cobalt-silver-arsenic soil anomaly. A further Dingo Hill West licence application was lodged. Ambrosia drilling is to follow Bonaventura.
Monax applied for two more tenements around Ambrosia, which would lift its holding there from 854 to 1346 square kilometres. It says the channel may suit rollfront uranium and has begun preliminary drill planning. Applications not yet granted.
