28 Sept 2006annual report● Neutral
2006 Annual Report: the chairman says the company has recovered from the Napperby drilling problems and grown its tenements to about 63,000 km2. Offshore uranium projects have been inspected but none met criteria yet. Repeats known facts.
The Napperby resource drilling programme finished with 255 holes drilled. Latest assays include a new best of 1 m at 5,120 ppm U3O8 and 4.5 m at 1,516 ppm in hole 160. Final results are expected in about four weeks.
Assays for Napperby holes 69-155 include the best result so far, 1 m at 4,320 ppm U3O8 in hole 132. The company says results support continuity between the 1979 Uranerz wide-spaced holes and their non-JORC estimate.
June 2006 quarter: 147 of 250 Napperby holes drilled, with 68 assayed showing many 1 m intervals above 1,000 ppm U3O8. Mt Isa rock chips returned up to 9,640 ppm U3O8 at Miranda; drilling is planned for September at Lochness and Miranda.
Chairman Dr Pretorius recorded an audio broadcast discussing the recent Napperby assay results, on boardroomradio.com. No new information in the notice itself.
Next 33 Napperby holes returned numerous 1 m intervals above 1,000 ppm U3O8, with a best composite of 1,100 ppm over 4 m. The company says this supports a near-surface higher-grade channel within the wider low-grade zone.
First 35 Napperby resource holes confirm trench grades, best 1 m at 3,170 ppm U3O8 and best composite 893 ppm over 5 m. A 6-hole aircore trial again gave poor recovery. The company says Napperby is back on track after last year's setback.
June broker presentation restating the pure-uranium strategy, with over $14 million cash, 617 million shares and a $9 million three-year budget. It largely repeats known facts; the portfolio is listed as 57,107 km2 in Tanami-Arunta and 3,295 km2 at Western Gawler.
Resource drilling began at Napperby: 250 holes of 60 cm diameter on 50 x 50 m centres, to be finished in the September quarter. Deep Yellow also applied for five Queensland permits (about 1,600 km2) at Durong, 90% held with Superior Resources at 10%.
Approvals are in for 250 large-diameter holes at Napperby, starting early June, to allow a resource estimate for the 1,000 x 600 m block. Fieldwork starts in June on the Matrix JV after tenement EPM 14196 was granted.
Director Martin Kavanagh recorded an audio overview of company activities, available on boardroomradio.com. The notice itself contains no new information.
Former director James Pratt exercised 5 million options at 2 cents, the balance of those issued to him in March 2005. This adds 5 million shares, taking shares quoted to 627,045,966, and brings in about $100,000 (calculated).
March 2006 quarter: cash of $14.2 million after the $11.8 million entitlement issue. It repeats the Napperby trench results and the Matrix and Dominion deals, and adds new licence applications. The board approved looking at offshore uranium opportunities.
Napperby trench assays confirmed flat-lying calcrete-hosted uranium, with a 2 m zone above 1,000 ppm U3O8 and a peak of 3,460 ppm over 1.2 m. After the poor 2005 drilling, the board is again pursuing a resource program.
Napperby trenching is finished and 369 samples have gone for uranium assay, with results due late April. This follows the visible carnotite found in the trenches.
Adelaide conference presentation restating strategy as a pure uranium explorer. It cites about $15 million cash, 617 million shares and a $9 million three-year exploration budget, with offshore opportunities to be reviewed.
The 157.7 million rights-issue shares at 7.5 cents were allotted, raising $11.83 million and lifting shares on issue to 617,045,966. Top holder is Robert Healy at 7.32%, then Dr Pretorius at 6.73%.
30 Mar 2006capital raising announcement▲ GoodMajor
The entitlement issue closed with 71% taken up: 157.7 million shares at 7.5 cents, raising $11.83 million. It was not underwritten and the 64.4 million-share (29%) shortfall will not be placed.
What it means for a shareholder
158m new shares at $0.075 to raise about $11.8m. Shares on issue before the raise aren't in the record, so the dilution can't be worked out.
Central Land Council cleared trenching beside three mineralised Napperby holes. Trenching began 23 March and has exposed visible carnotite (a uranium mineral) in the first two trenches, ahead of further resource drilling.
Half-year to December 2005: net loss $1.82 million (previously $0.23 million), including $1.97 million of share-based payments. Cash was $2.1 million. Three directors resigned and two joined in the period, following the company's exit from administration.
Deep Yellow signed a binding heads of agreement for uranium rights to Dominion's 3,300 sq km Western Gawler tenements in South Australia. It can earn 90% by spending $3 million over 3 years, with shares equal to 2.2% of capital (or $1 million, if greater).
Deep Yellow agreed a uranium joint venture with Matrix Metals over about 5,000 sq km near Mt Isa-Cloncurry. It can earn 51% by spending $3 million over 3 years, plus shares equal to 2.2% of its capital.
Re-release of the 20 February Matrix Metals uranium joint venture announcement (earn 51% for $3 million over 3 years); no new information in the text shown.
December 2005 quarter: six more Tanami-Arunta licences (3,180 km2) acquired 100%, taking uranium rights to 56,105 km2. Napperby resource estimate failed because drill sample recovery averaged 49%; a piling-rig drill program is planned instead.
