4 Mar 2008investor presentation● Neutral
Cape Town investor presentation repeats known facts: Tubas resource of 17,600 t U3O8, Queensland drilling results, Napperby option, and cash of about $65m. The 2008 Namibian target is shown as 45,000-50,000 t, corrected the same day.
Corrects the Cape Town presentation: the end-2008 Namibian resource target should read 45,000 to 55,000 t U3O8, not 45,000 to 50,000 t. The 100-120 million lb figure is unchanged. This raises the top of the previously stated target range.
Deep Yellow issued 20.1m unlisted options to employees and contractors (exercise 27.5c-60c, expiring 30 June 2011), none to directors. The 82m Raptor shares were released from restriction on 26 February as announced.
Uranio, now ASX-listed, has started drilling at the Siccus JV in South Australia: 12-15 holes to 150-200 m targeting palaeochannel uranium. Deep Yellow holds 20% of the project; Uranio 70%, Signature 10%. Confirms the Uranio deal completed.
The voluntary trading restriction on 82 million shares issued in the 2006 Raptor acquisition will lift on 26 February 2008, earlier than the 13 October 2008 expiry. The board says the Namibian tenure and data concerns are satisfied. Possible extra shares for sale.
Sandy Moyle, 27 years' experience, joined 4 February as Australian Exploration Manager. The 2008 Australian exploration budget is about $6m, focused on Queens Gift resource drilling and RC drilling at over 10 Mt Isa-Cloncurry prospects.
Deep Yellow retracts a reference in its quarterly report to a non-JORC historic resource estimate for Pamela and Angela, near Alice Springs. It replaces the text with a note that it applied, with about 36 other companies, for the ground.
December quarter report restates known results: Tubas resource, Namibian sampling up to 3.29% U3O8, Queensland drilling and the Xstrata deal. Uranio listed 29 Jan; Deep Yellow got 3.85m shares, options and $500k cash, with $1m more due by 29 Jan 2009. Cash over $62m.
Deep Yellow was formally admitted to the Namibian Stock Exchange on 23 January 2008 as a secondary listing, as planned. ASX remains the primary listing. No capital raised, though Namibian investors can join future raisings.
Helicopter-supported ground checking of airborne anomalies returned rock samples up to 32,935 ppm (3.29%) U3O8 across all four Namibian licences. Samples are likely positively biased, so this shows prospectivity, not resource. Airborne EM survey to follow.
Toro, holding the Napperby option, reports 2007 drilling adjacent to Deep Yellow's resource found similar grades (200-700 ppm, 559 ppm average assays) and mineralisation contiguous with the existing 670 t resource. A revised resource model is expected in April.
Presentation to the Namibian Stock Exchange repeating known facts: Tubas 17,600 t resource, 50,000 t target by end 2008, about $65m cash, 1.109bn shares. Notes market cap about $300m at 27c and airborne EM survey scheduled for February.
Scissor hole AM3 at the Tubas iron-oxide prospect returned 37 m at 260 ppm and 4 m at 715 ppm U3O8 (preliminary), confirming depth mineralisation seen in AM1 and AM2. Final assays due mid-February; two diamond holes planned.
Deep Yellow gets a four-year earn-in option over uranium rights on six Xstrata tenements (504 km2) west of Mt Isa, needing at least $10m of spending ($1m in year one). Xstrata keeps copper and other minerals and a 1.5% net profit royalty if mined.
Deep Yellow plans a secondary listing of all 1,108,726,958 shares on the Namibian Stock Exchange on 23 January 2008, to widen its shareholder base. ASX stays the primary listing; no capital raised.
Two angled RC holes at the Namibian iron-oxide prospect confirm uranium at depth, e.g. 26 m at 217 ppm and 16 m at 286 ppm U3O8 (preliminary assays). Directors call it potentially economic; the trend runs 5,000 m, with final assays due mid-February.
Matrix Metals re-releases Deep Yellow's Conquest results, noting the ground is in the NW Queensland JV, where Deep Yellow can earn up to 80% of uranium rights. No new information.
Conquest Prospect near Mt Isa, in the Matrix JV, returned 22 m at 575 ppm and 13 m at 723 ppm U3O8 in one hole of a seven-hole, 750 m programme. Directors call it significant with potential economic implications; further drilling planned early in 2008.
Ground teams in northern Tubas EPL 3496 found a new alaskite uranium occurrence (composite samples 2,000-4,500 ppm U3O8, about 4 km2 mapped) and an iron-oxide outcrop with 200-400 ppm dump samples. Drilling follows in January; a new style beyond the known shallow deposits.
12 Dec 2007farm in farm out agreement● NeutralMajor
Deep Yellow agrees to farm out 75% of five Queensland uranium projects (nine tenements, about 2,600 sq km) to Dragon Energy, which must spend $3m and pay $500,000 cash. Subject to Dragon's ASX listing by 28 June 2008; fits stated focus on Mt Isa, Gawler and Namibia.
AGM presentation largely repeats known projects and the Tubas resource. Updated points: market cap about $400m, cash and liquid assets about $65m, and stated goal of 50,000 t U3O8 by end 2008. About 20,000 m drilled at Tubas.
Rum Jungle Uranium's activity update, released by that company. It listed on ASX 19 November (trading from 21 November), meeting the 30 October listing condition's intent (inference: listing was after that date). It drilled 975 m on the Deep Yellow Alice Springs JV ground, finding nothing significant at Arltunga, anomalous lignitic shale at Ambalindum.
