11 Mar 2011half year report● Neutral
Half-year report to 31 December 2010 restating known activity: Omahola PFS, Ongolo drilling, Shiyela work and Mount Isa deep drilling. The resource table is unchanged at 44,422 t U3O8 (98.0 Mlb). Confirms McDonald left and Cochran replaced Mutz.
Executive directors received 2,830,000 nil-cost performance share rights: 1.5m to MD Greg Cochran under his employment contract and 1.33m to Martin Kavanagh as approved at the 2010 AGM. Most vest on share price hurdles and continued employment through 2011-2013.
Shiyela first-phase drilling (140 RC and 5 diamond holes, over 26,000 m) nears completion by end February. Golder's maiden JORC resource is due in Q2 2011, with an initial target of 120-150 Mt at 20-25% magnetite at M62, plus M63.
ProMet's review of preliminary testwork on Shiyela magnetite finds low silica and coarse grain, suggesting simple dry magnetic separation could work. Abrasion is high and grinding hardness trending high. A first resource is due in Q2 2011. Early-stage, no economics yet.
Indaba conference presentation by new MD Greg Cochran restating known facts: aim to produce uranium in Namibia by 2014/5, about A$20m net cash, market cap about A$360m at 32c, and FY2010 resource cost of A$0.42/lb. No new information.
The board issued 1,955,700 nil-cost performance share rights to employees and contractors under the shareholder-approved Awards Plan, vesting in August 2011 and August 2012 (the last tranche needs a 20% share price rise). Routine incentive issue.
Fusion-XRF assays from 430 Ongolo Alaskite samples confirm high-grade zones, e.g. 18 m at 939 ppm and 41 m at 496 ppm U3O8. Roughly half the zone is drilled; only assays received by mid-March go into the initial resource due end of March.
Appendix 5B cash flow for the December 2010 quarter: net operating outflow A$4.9m, cash fell from A$25.0m to A$20.35m. Planned spend next quarter is A$6.5m (A$5.3m exploration). No debt. Companion to the quarterly activities report filed the same day.
December quarter report recapping known results: interim Omahola PFS, Ongolo grade increase, Tumas Zone 3 basement hits and Shiyela drilling. Cash and liquid assets are A$20m. Ongolo resource targeted by end March 2011, with five RC rigs and one diamond rig drilling.
13 Jan 2011director officer appointment● NeutralMajor
Managing Director Patrick Mutz resigned on 12 January 2011 for personal and family reasons. Greg Cochran, former Terramin CEO and ex-Uranium One executive, becomes Managing Director from 24 January, as the company moves toward development of Omahola.
Interim pre-feasibility results for Omahola: 1,000 t (2.2 Mlb) U3O8 a year from 2014, 12-year minimum life, capital cost US$324-336m, operating cost US$24.90-25.30/lb. Study completion pushed to Q2 2011 to consider Ongolo feed. Ongolo resource now due March 2011.
Re-release of the interim Omahola pre-feasibility announcement with the date corrected to 10 January 2011. Content appears the same: 1,000 t a year from 2014, capital US$324-336m. No new information.
Notice that an audio interview with MD Patrick Mutz is available online, covering Tubas-Tumas drilling, Inca look-alike targets and the 30% Ongolo grade increase. No new information.
Publication of the company's Security Trading Policy, adopted by the board on 17 November 2010. It bars insider trading and sets closed periods around quarterly reports. Administrative; no new business information.
ASX queried a share price rise from 27c on 9 Dec to 32.5c on 16 Dec with higher volumes. Deep Yellow said it knows of no unannounced information and has no explanation for the move.
Krucible reports on Pilgrim JV (Krucible 80%, Deep Yellow 20%) diamond drilling: widespread alteration but no economic zones, with up to 5% copper over 0.1 m and uranium up to 450 ppm. More drilling is planned in 2011 after data review.
Infill drilling at Tumas Zone 3 found basement uranium below the Tubas-Tumas channel: 47 m at 830 ppm from 29 m in ORXR1. Scissor holes suggest it may be limited in extent. Red Sand hit 8 m at 516 ppm, about 20 km east of Tubas Red Sand. Diamond drilling is planned for 2011.
Re-assaying earlier Ongolo Alaskite samples by a different lab method (fusion-XRF) lifts the weighted average grade about 30%, from 453 to 587 ppm U3O8. Drilling continues toward a first resource estimate expected in Q1 2011.
Non-executive director Tony McDonald will resign effective 31 December 2010, citing demands from his other business activities; he was recently appointed managing director of Kings Minerals NL. The board drops to five directors.
AGM presentation by the managing director, largely repeating known facts. Shows net cash A$22.8m at 31 October and market cap about A$304m at 27 cents. Namibian production target remains 2013-14. Text provided is truncated.
First hole at a new Inca-type target, IT-3, 3 km south of Inca, hit 11 m at 1,064 ppm eU3O8. It is the first of ten such targets in EPL 3496 to be tested, with one RC rig dedicated to the others.
Coffey's re-estimate cuts Inca's initial area from 7,429 t (16.4 Mlb) to 6,077 t (13.4 Mlb) at a 250 ppm cut-off, down 18%. This reverses the July upgrade. The eastern extension is excluded pending more drilling; the company stays confident of future increases.

Mining 2010 Brisbane presentation largely repeating known facts. Shows net cash A$25.0m at 30 September and market cap about A$258m at 23 cents. Namibian production target remains 2013-14.
A review of the 2007 Tubas resource finds a higher-grade subset: 22.8 Mt at 455 ppm for 10,369 t U3O8 (22.9 Mlb) at 200 ppm cut-off, within the existing 17,600 t. No new drilling; a scoping study is being considered.
The promised Inca resource update, due this quarter, is delayed to end October. Coffey Mining's scope was widened to re-estimate the whole deposit, and extra assays are needed for very high-grade zones. The July figure of 7,429 t stands for now.
Notice that an audio broadcast of the managing director's presentation on high-grade Tubas alaskite mineralisation is available online. No new information.
