29 Apr 2016quarterly activities report▲ Good
March quarter: cash and liquid assets $2.3m, down from $2.8m. Tumas testwork on schedule, interim results at or above expectations. Reinterpretation found over 2 km of drilling east of Zone 1 not in the model, so a resource increase is possible; a new model is being built.
Namibian licences EPL 3496 and 3497, covering Tumas/Tubas and Omahola, renewed for two years, the fourth renewal. Ripnes (EPL 3499) voluntarily relinquished. Secures the tenure for the current work programs, resolving the pending renewal.
Proactive Investors presentation: 1,931M shares, market cap about A$13.5M at 0.7c, net cash about A$2M. Pitches Tumas (~350ppm) as near-term development. Mostly repeats known themes; share price has fallen from 1.1c at the November AGM.
Half-year to 31 Dec 2015: loss $881,331 (previous period $496,192), exploration spend $433,469. Shares issued to employees and in lieu of director fees. Repeats Tumas testwork with Marenica and Omahola plant location between Ongolo and MS7. No new results.
Per Marenica Energy's announcement, Deep Yellow signed a Services Agreement for Marenica to run U-pgrade testwork on Tumas ore, due by June 2016. Deep Yellow funds it, estimated at A$265,000. Commercialisation talks are agreed in principle only if the tests succeed.
December quarter: cash and liquid assets $2.8m, down from $3.4m. The first Tumas sample was smaller than planned after a hard layer blocked excavation, so a larger second sample will be sent and testwork now runs to about mid-2016. Overheads fell after the chairman and country manager departures.
23 Dec 2015director officer appointment● NeutralMajor
Rudolf Brunovs, a director since August 2007 and former Ernst & Young partner, is appointed interim chairman. Tim Netscher resigns effective 31 December 2015. Completes the chair handover announced in October.
About 1.5 tonnes of Tumas Zone 1 calcrete excavated; 1 tonne goes to Marenica Energy in Perth for first-phase U-pgrade testwork, expected to take about three months from early 2016. Follows up the palaeochannel work; aim is a high-grade product for existing Namibian mines. Existing resource remains 18 Mlb.
Corrected AGM results table, with resolution numbering fixed and full vote figures for each resolution. Confirms the 39.6% vote against the remuneration report, the company's first strike. Correction of the previous day's release.
AGM presentation: 1,918M shares, net cash about A$3.4m, market cap about A$21.1M at 1.1c. Repeats palaeochannel, Omahola and Tubas Sand themes and the aim of an intermediate product for fast-track development. No new results.
AGM results: all resolutions passed on a show of hands, but 39.6% voted against the remuneration report, giving the company its first strike. Initial release's results table was later corrected.
September quarter: cash and liquid assets $3.4m, down from about $3.9m. Netscher's seat will not be refilled, non-executive fees cut a further 10%, and the Namibian Country Manager resigned and will not be replaced. Omahola internal review complete, detailed release being prepared; palaeochannel exploration and testwork planned.
19 Oct 2015director officer appointment● NeutralMajor
Chairman Tim Netscher will step down as chairman and director because he is joining the board of Toro Energy and will have too little time. He stays as chairman in the short term for an orderly handover. He has been chairman since September 2013.
Full 2015 annual report, following the 14 September release of the same document. Repeats Omahola potential of 2.5-3.5 Mlb a year with operating costs below US$50/lb, no Tubas Sand offtaker, and the palaeochannel upside. Independent Omahola results still unreleased. No new results.
ASX granted a listing rule waiver so directors can again take part of their fees in shares, issued monthly for 12 months from 1 September 2015 and subject to shareholder approval. Continues the reduced-cash fee practice in place since March 2014 to conserve cash for Namibia.
Appendix 4G governance checklist lodged with the annual report, signed by the Company Secretary on 14 September 2015 and pointing to the website governance page. Administrative form with no substance for shareholders.
2015 annual report: strategy is advancing Namibian projects. Omahola could produce 2.5-3.5 Mlb a year over 10-14 years at operating costs below US$50/lb; the independent study is still unreleased. Tubas Sand has no offtaker. Palaeochannel potential restated. No new results.
Corporate Governance Statement for FY to 30 June 2015, adopted by the board on 1 September 2015. It describes the board's policies under the ASX 3rd Edition principles, including 14 board meetings in the year. Governance boilerplate, no new operating or financial information.
Syndicated Metals and Deep Yellow dissolve their 2011 Mount Isa joint venture. Syndicated takes 100% of EPM14281 and Deep Yellow gets a 1% net smelter royalty. Deep Yellow regains EPM14916 and EPM15070 unencumbered. Minor, non-core Queensland assets.
June quarter: cash about $3.9m. Repeats the palaeochannel results; Omahola smaller heap leach study modelled a Grasshopper ore stacking arrangement to cut capital cost, with results to be released after internal review. Spot uranium fell to US$36.50/lb.
Tumas Zone 1 infill drilling (90 holes) confirmed continuous mineralisation over 160 m, matching earlier grades. Geophysics shows palaeochannels over 100 km long and to about 130 m deep, so potential is well beyond the existing 18 Mlb resource (22.2 Mt at 369 ppm). Potential, not a new resource.
Australian Uranium Conference presentation: 1,910M shares, net cash about A$3.9m, market cap about A$19.1m at 1.0c. Promotes the palaeochannel results announced the same day. Recovery still expected 2016-2020, so projects advance cautiously.
March quarter: cash about $4.5m. Tumas Zone 1 90-hole infill drilling confirmed continuous mineralisation consistent with earlier results; assays being validated. Orelogy/DRA smaller heap leach study received and under review before release. Follow-up ABU targets planned after the ABU-001 miss.
Appendix 3B: 2,177,535 shares issued at nil price to directors and staff in lieu of fees and salaries on 21 April 2015. Quoted shares become 1,908,690,616. Routine.
Half-year to 31 December 2014: loss of $496,192 versus $3.30m a year earlier, exploration spend $797,273. Tubas Sand infill drilling did not proceed for lack of an offtaker. Omahola smaller heap leach study nearly complete. Restates known items.
Appendix 3B: 1,442,371 shares issued to directors and the MD in lieu of February fees and salaries, plus 500,000 from vesting performance rights, on 20 February 2015. Quoted shares become 1,905,001,219. Routine.
Investment conference presentation: 1,901M shares, net cash about A$4.9m, market cap about A$26.6m at 1.4c. Repeats the Omahola heap leach PEA, Tubas Sand and palaeochannel themes. Paladin holds 16.8%. No new results.
December quarter: cash just under $5m. A 5-hole drill program at the ABU-001 alaskite target found no significant mineralisation. Tumas palaeochannel drilling is complete with assays pending, and Orelogy is running pit optimisation on a smaller, lower-capex Omahola heap leach option.
Drilling has restarted in Namibia: a palaeochannel program at Tumas Zone 1 (EPL 3497) to finish before Christmas, and reconnaissance drilling of alaskite targets on EPL 3496 to run to at least end-January 2015. First field drilling after a lengthy assessment period.
