First Yanrey results: 18 of 20 holes were infill at Bennet Well and matched expected grade and thickness. A twin of a 2015 hole returned 7.00m @ 543ppm eU3O8, validating the drilling method. Drilling now moves to north and south extensions and the Manyingee area.
Yanrey aircore drilling began on 10 July, delayed from early June by heavy rain; the company says the 251-hole, ~25,000m program is not meaningfully affected. All approvals and the heritage survey are complete. First results are expected in two to three weeks.
Yanrey site preparation is nearly done: drill pads almost complete and the camp is operational. Drilling is now expected in early June, a slight slip from the early-May start. No new results.
Yanrey 2024 program is now 251 holes for about 25,000m, with Wallis Drilling and Wireline Services engaged and Phase 1 (up to 8,000m) cleared to start. Extra heritage surveys are booked for late May; drilling still expected in Q2.
Melrose aircore assays found near-surface nickel over a 600x200m area at Target 01: 29 of 65 holes at 0.30% Ni or better, best 12m @ 1.00% Ni from 17m. Weathered-zone only; mineralisation open. RC results on 846m of drilling are due.
Yanrey drilling plan of up to 25,000m in two phases: Phase 1 is 70 holes for about 7,000m from Q2 2024, with approvals in hand; Phase 2 is 188 holes in Q3/Q4. Follows the January exploration target and adds two consultant geologists.
Follow-up RC drilling started at Melrose: six holes for 1,500m to test deeper sources of near-surface nickel/cobalt. Aircore assays are expected within a fortnight. Project area is now stated as about 1,428km2 (previously 1,507km2).
Melrose maiden aircore program finished: 110 holes, 4,248m, with 872 samples sent for assay. Rock types that can host nickel were seen over 600m at Target 01, and one fresh sulphide fragment at Target 03. No assays yet; the sulphide is visual only.
Revised Yanrey exploration target across 22 areas: 20.4-66.2Mt at 326-464ppm eU3O8, in addition to the 30.9Mlb resource. It is conceptual only, not a resource. A 25,000m+ drill program is planned for 2024. Later retracted in part (see next).
Maiden aircore drilling began at Melrose with Strike Drilling: about 100 holes, up to 5,000m, testing nickel-copper targets including Target 1 (earlier 19m @ 0.32% Ni). Results will guide follow-up RC drilling. E70/6467 and 6468 have been granted.
Drilling approval granted for up to 4,000m of aircore at Melrose, starting December. Parle Investments became a substantial holder at 11.55%, and no shortfall went to the underwriter. The Yanrey scoping study is due before year end.
Aerial EM survey at Melrose (361.3 line km) found potential targets along a linear trend matching magnetic and nickel-copper geochemical anomalies. Target 1 had earlier hits of 19m @ 0.32% Ni. Drilling planned after cropping season, probably within two months. A geophysical result, not a drill result.
The aerial EM survey at Melrose has started, covering 321 line kilometres over Targets 01 to 04 and others, taking about 10 days of flying. Initial results are expected in early September. Follows the earlier magnetic modelling; no results yet.
Magnetic modelling at Melrose Target 04 shows a body about 3km long and up to 500m wide, 184m deep, roughly 150m below historical air-core holes with elevated nickel (592ppm) and copper (750ppm). Similar to Target 01. Two pegged tenements granted. A geophysical result, not a drill result.
Magnetic modelling at Melrose Target 01 shows a magnetic body about 1km long and up to 300m wide, 110-160m deep, roughly 60m below historical nickel-copper air-core hits. Cauldron wants to drill it soon and plans an aerial EM survey. A geophysical result, not a drill result.
Second high-grade Blackwood hit: BKD015 returned 0.8m at 19.2 g/t gold, including 0.3m at 27 g/t, matching BKD014 and earlier face sampling of 2.45m at 31.3 g/t. BKD013 had no significant gold. Supports the company's shoot model.
First meaningful Blackwood assay: hole BKD014 returned 0.6m at 20.1 g/t gold, after the earlier holes BKD001-010 missed or hit only low grades. BKD011 gave 0.35m at 1.06 g/t. Resolves the long wait for assays; drilling continues.
Blackwood core recovery problems are reported as fixed: a triple-tube NQ3 system with experienced drillers now gives over 90% recovery, versus up to 60% earlier. Resolves the poor-recovery issue from earlier holes; still no assay results.
Phase 2 underground drilling began at Blackwood from the cleared platform in the Tyrconnel Adit, targeting historical high-grade zones of the Western Leader Reef. Follows the voids that stopped earlier holes; no results yet.
Three December 2021 Blackwood holes (32m total) were abandoned in voids and broken ground before reaching target depth, with poor core recovery. Best result was a 1m open-hole sample at 0.86 g/t gold; a channel sample gave 2m at 1.27 g/t. Phase 2 drilling is planned.
Blackwood drilling recommenced on 22 December 2021, a day ahead of the 23 December target. An initial fan of five holes targets the area next to the Annie Laurie reef. Resumes the program after delays; no results yet.
Blackwood drilling is scheduled to restart on 23 December 2021 with a fan of five holes near the Annie Laurie reef. The company says the Kempe rig and operators are available again as COVID travel limits lifted. Follows the ground support delays.
Passive seismic at Yanrey's Flagstaff Prospect found multiple basement complexity targets for follow-up drilling, using the model built at Bennet Well (31Mlb). This is geophysics, not drilling or a new resource; WA's uranium ban still limits work.
Ground support at the Annie Laurie–Tyrconnel junction is stabilised, with fallen material nearly cleared after weather-related ground falls. Visible gold was seen in an old access rise; 22 channel samples were sent for assay. No assay results yet.
Two Blackwood holes near the Annie Laurie reef hit an old mined void before reaching their targets, so no gold assays yet. Ground support work, about four weeks, is needed before drilling resumes from the other side. A Prospectors Licence (PL7763) application was accepted.
Underground drilling has started at Blackwood, with Core Prospecting's Kempe rig drilling from the Tyrconnel adit, ahead of the mid-August target. It targets extensions of historically mined high-grade reefs. The first drilling at the project; no results yet.
Cauldron installed over 450m of compressed air and water lines in the Tyrconnel adit, and Core Prospecting has begun mobilising, targeting drilling by mid-August. The company says it is fully funded for the program. Preparatory step; no drilling results yet.
Cauldron's team will be on site at Blackwood from 29 March 2021 for five to seven days to organise logistics for the approved underground drilling program and begin community engagement. No drilling has started yet.
Further review of historic data picks Rogers Big Hill, in Blackwood's central area, as a priority target, with a 750 m prospect still open at depth. Cauldron will seek approval to drill. Shares on issue are shown as 393,289,835, up from 376,289,835.
Data review of Blackwood (Cauldron 51% in the joint venture) finds a 3.5 km gold trend with historic production of 152,000oz at 16 to 23 g/t. Cauldron will seek drilling approval. These are historic data and not a new resource or drill result.
